It's an upgrade from analog
Bought a refurb set. Didn't sound too good with connecting the sound bar's Bluetooth to my LG TV, but it did pair easily. The audio was there, but the bass really wasn't at first. Had to really crank up the sound to really get some bass response. Switched to the HDMI ARC in/out from my TV and the sound amplified quite a bit. After that it was just a matter of tweaking and fine tuning the internal EQ, speaker placement and levels. I don't know if the subwoofer is self amplified, but at the levels I was running it, it didn't seem to clip. FYI, it's a ported enclosure. In general the system is both satisfying in terms of going loud and staying clear. I'm really happy with it, I only wish the subwoofer had its own crossover level. ---------- Update 2 weeks later: Although using the HDMI ARC sounds more amplified than the Bluetooth, the sound levels are just way-way off. The rear speakers are much too loud even at the lowest level setting, the sub is very sensitive, and the center channel is really hard to hear, especially with soft spoken voices and when there's dialogue during action scenes. I prefer not to use subtitles, but have had to turn them on more frequently now. Last option was optical, which reviewers already said no good to, but My TV can play both internal speaker + optical simultaneously. Going this route allows me to independently control the TV and the sound bar volumes. It took some back and forth tuning, but finally found that happy medium, but to watch the movies loud, the sound bar does need to be cranked up more than HDMI ARC, when using optical.

Great sound for the money!
With the back speakers this soundbar had great sound for the under $250 price. Love it for movies and sports. Only okay for music. The reviews are correct that the subwoofer does not provide enough bass to feel it. However you do hear it and it sounds good. It's a 6" woofer so don't think you can have a woofer you feel in that size or at this price. If give it 3 stars compared with a $1000 sound system but gave it 5 for the sound and value at it's price point.

Not perfect, but not horrible
** I changed my review from 1 to 4 stars and here is why... I ended up getting a high dollar optical cable and now it doesn't cut out anymore. My main issue is now resolved, but should have never been an issue in the first place. I've always received an optical cable when I purchased a sound bar so I don't understand why one wasn't included with this system. The sound is amazing in my tiny apartment so I am now happy.. Below is my original review.** Although it was easy to setup, it is the absolute worst system ever. Cuts out constantly. I mean constantly. Easily 3-4 times in a 4 minute song streaming from YouTube. Don't even attempt to watch a movie cause even though the sound is great, the constant cutting out will give you a migraine. I originally thought it was the arc so I switched to optical then thought it was bad so I went and bought a new one and had the same results. Then I thought perhaps it was the TV so I connected it to my other TV and had the same results. Going to try to see if the firmware needs updated and if not this pos is getting sent back.

Actually quite good, and a steal for the price!
TL;DR A great little surround system, priced well. This is a pretty effective pseudo-wireless surround speaker system. I'm using it with a 65" screen, it seems well sized to that. The surround effects are audible - they add the right ambience. The sub at least lets me know there's bass there. No wireless sub in a surround system at this price will be able to follow every one of Jimi's notes precisely. But it does add distinguishable bass, at the same time it's not intrusive. Biggest thing is that the decoding when hooked up via HDMI to the TV ARC channel ... is fine. I had a "higher end" 3.1 soundbar for twice the price, and it always would do funny things with the sound decoding.

It was not refurbished correctly
We purchased the Samsung HW-Q67CT 7.1ch Soundbar with Acoustic Beam and Wireless Rear Kit (Renewed). We also purchased the Asurion 3 year protection plan for product support. We invested $299.00 for this purchase thinking it would be covered for 3 years… Several months ago we started having issues where the product would not turn on from the TV it was connected with via the HDMI eArch cable. Then about a month ago it would not function at all, even if we turned it on using the power switch on the unit. It would not produce any sound through the sound bar at all. We had to play sound through the TV sound system. We contacted the Asurion repair, got the service request and finally sent it in for repair (three year coverage). We packed up the unit, sent it in, and delivered to the UPS center. NOW the Status update notified us that the unit was beyond repair. It seems as though they could not repair the unit, which suggests the unit was not refurbished properly, or the unit was not right from the refurbish work. We purchased the unit in good faith, and assumed the product would function properly, and was repaired correctly. WE even added the 3 year protection plan. NOW we know the unit cannot be repaired. How do we resolve this, get the sound bar for a good price, and receive protection?

Fantastic sound bar for the price.
I was leery about buying this as a refurbished item but it has a warranty and it's from Amazon so why not. I was shocked at what I received, it was completely brand new, everything was still in the original factory wrappings. It was like someone bought it opened the box and said "nah" and returned it. The sound is great and the rear speakers work better than I thought they would. Overall, for the price it can't be beat.
