Super Fun
This is such a fun series. I first was introduced to Need For Speed via NFS Most Wanted on the Wii U. That one was more of an open world driving game with missions on the way, whereas this one is totally mission based: drop into the mission, complete it, and then back to the main menu. I think I prefer the Most Wanted style of the open world better, but this is great too, and I really enjoy getting to play as a cop and trying to bring down the speeders and street racers, which is something you couldn’t do in Most Wanted.I hope they make a lot more games in this Franchise. And I wouldn’t mind seeing a Most Wanted port to the switch. It’s been quite a few years since I played it on the Wii U so I would re-buy.Conclusion: This game is great and you won’t regret it. Definitely buy it.

Fun game. Recommend.
I've played the game in dock mode and raced on a few roads and unlocked a few cars and this game is fun. Obviously the graphics aren't going to be as good as on a higher end system (won't mention any names) but for being on a portable system the graphics are very good (see the screen shots in the game listing it really does look like that) and driving around is quite enjoyable. I watched several reviews online and no one mentioned that it has what is called "free mode". Free mode allows one to simply just drive and the scope of where you can go is a nice touch. By scope I mean if you can see it you can typically drive there including behind and around buildings that are on the side of the road. Free mode allows one to test out a car with no stress and get use to drifting if you want and go for a "Sunday" drive. The free mode has no affect on your career and no one to compete against or anyone chasing you just driving around and testing things out. Here are some of the things you can see while driving around: a ferris wheel, hang gliders going by, planes, birds, wind turbines, helicopters, an airport you can drive under the wing of an airplane, cruise ships out in the ocean, hotel with a pool, a blimp, dams to drive through and by, large satellite dishes etc. The other cars have a silhouette of a driver in them which is a nice touch and the cars do react to you as an example if you are in their way they will stop. Free mode could almost be used as a driving education tool lol. Most of the time if you can see it you can drive there which to me was unexpected since I just thought you raced on the roads and weren't allowed to do any exploring. I will say the lack of local split screen is a downer but for me I just planned on playing the game by myself so that is not an issue and I did not test playing with others online. The beginning screen does want you to sign in on EA but you can just hit "B" and play offline without signing in or creating an account. Mind you not signing in is far from obvious (no message on screen saying hit "B" to skip signing in) which I will say is a little off putting almost like they are trying to force you to sign into EA which is wrong so shame on them for that. So far I have only been chased by the police but not played the police but it is a fun alternative to the simple racing against fellow racers like on most other racing games. If you like racing games and don't mind playing alone with the option of playing online I would recommend this game because the detail is amazing for a game made for a portable system.

I recommend this game to Everyone it is a very entertaining game. It is very addictive and the graphics are amazing. It’s an easy game to play as much better than the regular need for speed.

Speed Revisited
Hard to believe that when you look at the Need For Speed franchise, it has been more lost than found for over a decade. The 2000's were a gold mine for the racing series with smash games that drove it out of the park like Need For Speed Underground 2 & the 2006's Need For Speed: Carbon. But when you look at franchise recently, it has been mainly miss with lackluster games like Need For Speed: Payback & Need For Speed: Heat, which felt more like we got what was more of the same from before. When you look at EA's relationship with Nintendo over the last decade, it has been more of a crash & burn than a triumph, which is why we have not had games made for Nintendo's Wii U or Switch consoles after Need For Speed Most Wanted (2012) Well with all the failures in the relationship, EA needed to go back to what made their success so well with the franchise to bring it a new generation for Nintendo fans, and that is why we have Need For Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered, which gives Nintendo fans a chance to play a classic that was long forgotten about with time.Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered for the Nintendo Switch takes on the PS3/Xbox 360 edition to the hybrid console. Considered Nintendo Wii fans had a alternate Hot Pursuit title, bringing the PS3 take on the game is a bold move. The game itself allows you to race in a city called Seacrest County, a locale similar to the highways from Los Angeles, CA The game looks good remastered & has all the features from the PS3/Xbox 360 era games the chases with Police in races like Hot Pursuit, takedowns with automobiles & setting up traps as a cop where you easily shut down players to score hot points to improve your bounty for faster cars. The game does look great & the control is easier to pick up than what was expected. While you have a lot of wonderful classic cars like the For Crown Victoria & Dodge Challenger, you also have hit rod cars like lambourghinis & Ferarris to unlock & ride. The game does look great brilliantly & the control is actually easy to maintain. While you can alter the controls around, I wouldn't recommend it. The music is good, while not as strong soundtrack-wise as was EA's other remaster for the Switch: Burnout: Paradise which was, but handles well, while the sounds of the police cars & street vehicles. The remastered game does have a lot of replay value for the Switch & is a nice buy for anyone bored that wants a close-to open world racing game, but will never get it for the Switch. I also like the new additions that you get while racing, where you take down drivers as a cop by deploying spike strips or creating roadblocks as a way to create chaos on the speed sprints. Yet, there are a few disadvantages with the game. For one, you don't have a open world setting which would've worked well for the game, & matched what Need For Speed Most Wanted (2005) & Underground 2 had as creative chaos. A second disadvantage is the online gameplay. While I do like the idea of racing against friends in the multiplayer mode, it can be more jarring when you have a long wait time to, with the cross-console online play with PS4 & Xbox One in the end. But still, you do geta lot of fun out of it in the end. While the Need For Speed franchise fell to the backburner in favor of other racing games like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Forza Horizon 4 & Gran Turismo 6, Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered is actually a well-designed game. It has some things that could've worked out better, but truthfully you do get a lot of fun out it in the end. Hopefully,, EA should reconsider going back to their past & reintroduce those classic gems like Need For Speed: Underground 2 to give them a brighter future with the Nintendo Switch. It is a better release than the Gear Club titles had shown for the Switch. If you are looking for something more stable in racing than Burnout: Paradise Remastered, than you have it right here.Graphics: B-Sound: B-Control: B 1/2+Fun & Enjoyment: B 1/2-Overall: B 1/2-

Great Remaster for fans of the orginal
This NFS game was always a good straightforward racing game that was easy to pick up, exciting to play and hard to put down. The game is made even better now that it is something you can take wherever you go on the Switch. The graphics are sharp, controls are tight and gameplay is just as good as the original. If you were a fan of the original on PC/Xbox don't hesitate to grab this remaster. It's a great throwback to the era of getting a game without having to worry about IAP and DLC to enjoy.

Worth the play.
Game is addicting. Every single aspect of the game is fun and the drift physics are smooth. If you love Need For Speed you HAVE to buy this game. Coming from a fan of the series who’s played Most Wanted 05, Underground 1 and 2 as well as Carbon to name a few. However, Toyota’s vehicles are not in the game.
