This is amazing!
I have watched pretty much all the youtube videos on tooth scaler to see how it works and whether it really works or not. Afterwards, I was 95% sold on the scaler's functionality; however I was worried about whether I would be able to use it like the professionals did in the videos or not.I purchased the scaler anyway just to try it out since my 2 dogs are turning 12 this summer and we decide to stop taking them in for teeth cleaning because they seem to take longer time to recover from anesthesia than before. Plus our vet suddenly started telling us that 1 dog had issues with her heart under anesthesia and so forth.Keep in mind that I brush my dogs' teeth religiously, I mean "religiously" = once a day! now and at least 3-4 times a week when they were chewing raw hide or other types of bones, but I have noticed my siberian husky has bad genetics. His teeth are bad compared to my lab-malamute mix no matter what I tried. He has tarter buildup and some are having the black edges near the gum line. BAD news for me.Finally, the scaler arrived. First, like what the videos suggested - put cotton ball or something around the tooth you are working on to prevent accidental slipping of the scaler and cut your dog's gum. That scaler is sharp! The newer/softer tarter, I have no problem in removing it. It is the hardened tarter that I have issues with. Plus I am afraid of cutting my husky's gums. So I handed the scaler to my husband. He picked at it for a while and not much was coming off and we thought "great, what to do now?" Then suddenly voila, off it went on to the tissue paper. It was amazing!!Final thoughts on the scaler:**This scaler does work but it is not easy. You need to have lots of patience with it. Plus you need a dog that cooperates with you in opening up its mouth. I am amazed that my husky was willing to do that for me because we thought there was no way he would.**Always sanitize the scaler before you start using it. No one mentioned this in the videos, but I believe it is a must. I use Listerine as my sanitizer.**Always work in a nice lite place or do this during the daytime. If your dog is not patient, work on a tooth or two then stop.**Brush the teeth after you pick at them.**There will be areas that you won't be able to get to.I highly recommend this tool along with brushing your dogs' teeth.

Good product to regularly use in a THREE PART PROGRAM to keep dog and cat's teeth clean.
My little dog is not a chewer, so giving her things to chew to clean her teeth is a total waste of money. She also weighs 6 pounds and has a very small mouth. She will not let me use a toothbrush and her mouth is really too small for a toothbrush. I had a soft RUBBER oral finger brush for my dog in the past, but my little dog hated it probably because it was too rough on her gums. I could not feel her teeth very well through the rubber and I didn't see that it was effective to remove much either.Recently I had my dog's teeth cleaned by the vet so I was looking for better products which would help me keep her teeth clean. I came across Joy Pet 6-1/2-Inch Double Headed Tarter Remover/Scraper, Stainless which works very well along with other scaling instruments I already had. In addition, I use Petosan USA's Microfiber Fingerbrush Oral Cleaner. It is a very soft fabric product that can be washed. It is not as objectionable to my dog, it does not hurt her gums a rubber one did. I can feel her teeth through the fabric. I can see what it has removed from her teeth because yellow deposits from her teeth are visible on the cotton.I do not believe the Double Headed Tarter Remover Scraper is the total solution but it is definitely PART OF A TOTAL SOLUTION toward keeping her teeth from forming hard plaque. I would highly recommend this product as a three fold solution as below:* In addition to the scraper for scaling the teeth, I recommend you also use Petosan USA's Microfiber Fingerbrush Oral Cleaner for Pets* I have also added ProDen's PlaqueOff (for dogs and cats) to my dog's food every day, which is supposed to eliminate bad breath, tarter and plaque. My dog does not notice that it was even added to her food. This is a totally natural additive which has no preservatives, gluten, sugar, or artificial colors. It is essentially dried seaweed meal, which is a source of potassium and iodine and is good for my dog. These three products together seem to be keeping my dog's teeth fairly clean and so far her breath is staying fresh.

Save your dog the risk of anesthesia and yourself the money with this tool
This is an excellent tool. We adopted our 9 month old puppy who was from a puppy mill and he already had tartar on his teeth. I have been using enzymatic toothpaste for two months but the tartar was not coming off. I read the reviews here and decided to give this a try. It is a fabulous tool! Other reviews mention that once you get the hang of the pressure - and I found, the direction to scrape - the tartar comes off easily. It's best to scrape away from the gum so you don't cut it. I've gotten most of the tartar off (he's a patient guy), but curiously, even though vets say that dog's don't need the surface of the teeth on the inside of their mouths brushed because their tongues clean it off, mine has some tartar on the smaller teeth in the front on the inside. I don't know how I'm going to get that off as that would require my pup to keep his mouth open, still, and his tongue out of the way! But the surface of his teeth facing out are lovely and white now, so I am beyond pleased. We lost our last dog to severe esophagitis brought on by the vet having our dog under anesthesia too long during a dental, and I will never, ever have a dental done on any dog of mine again. Brushing the teeth, feeding a raw diet, and cleaning up tartar left from dry commercial diet with this tool is the way to go. Your dog will have a healthy body and a clean mouth.

Good tartar remover
Nice scraper. Wanted to remove tarter buildup on pups teeth. Works great with some dental wipes. The dental wipes help keep the tartar down but if you forget to use the wipes the scraper removes the buildup.

Difficile da usare
Funzionale ma difficile da usare ovviamente con cani che non amano farsi mettere le mani in bocca rischiate di fargli del male quindi utilizzatelo con prudenza

Compratelo senza remore, funziona!
