Saved my Betta!
My betta had a severe tear in their tail fin and this product healed it completely within about two weeks of use following the directions and doing water changes more often as in one every two to three days. The key detail here is regular water changes during this time! A fish with an injury needs clean water with stressguard, stressguard alone will not heal the fish. This is because it acts more like a bandage, when we have a bandage on we have to keep the wound clean and it is the same here. Dirty water with bacteria or fungus may lead to infections which will slow down healing since the fish will be more focused on fighting an infection instead of healing that torn fin, that is why pristine water is the other side of the coin. I recommend this product, it does not negatively impact fish, crustaceans, plants, the filtration, or the established nitrifying bacteria in the tank. To my knowledge this is the only product of its kind, API has a stress coat but it is really just aloe vera which promotes healing but does not protect the wound. This actually acts as a protein bandage of sorts and that makes it quite unique and helpful for your fish.

Great for fish in cycle
I love that this is safe for betta, unlike most other slime coat products. I've been doing a fish in cycle and slowly adding more fish, so the fact that this provides extra protection and antiseptic properties without crashing the new cycle is reassuring. I actually started using it at first because my first betta injured his tail a bit, but it healed up within a few days of starting this alongside water changes

Great product
Great product. I tried many products, and this is one of the only ones that really helped my goldfish.

Saved our Betta
Our new betta was happy and extremely active the first couple of weeks when, out of nowhere, he became suddenly lethargic and wouldn’t eat. The only thing I can think of was he either had an illness or was stressed by the aquarium backdrop we added. I removed the back drop and we tried different foods but he showed no signs of improvement. He hardly moved and we were worried he was near death. I ordered this as a last resort and 12 hours after using it he is back to actively swimming and eating. I’m so glad we gave it a try!

Lifesaver
Stress Guard is absolutely incredible. I love Seachem products in general, so when I found out they had something that helped regenerate slime coats, I was ecstatic. I bought it for my betta fish to have on hand for emergencies and lo and behold, she got herself stuck in a decoration one day. I found her just in time, but she lost a few scales, tore her fins, and was extremely stressed and breathing heavily. I turned the heat up in her tank and added some Stress Guard and she was back to her old self after just a few days. I for sure thought she was a goner after that, but she's still swimming around with me today, happy as can be! Her fins are finally regrown now and she is feisty as can be. What's great about Stress Guard is that it doesn't have any aloe or similar oils in it. A lot of these "stress coat" type products have aloe in them and advertise it as good for bettas, but it is actually very bad for bettas specifically because it coats their labyrinth organ and can prevent them from breathing properly. Stress Guard, on the other hand, helps them regenerate their slime coat with ease and doesn't coat their labyrinth organ with any harmful oils.

Works
Works great for stressed or injured fish This has helped my fish recover faster after moves and water changes. I noticed calmer behavior almost right away, and it also helps protect their slime coat during stressful times. A solid staple for any tank.
