LOT of 3 PCS, 2" x 3" x 12" Basswood Carving Wood Blocks Craft

Ordered non-kiln dried basswood and it is first rate stuff! Shipping as super fast. Thanks so much! This stuff carves like butter and is perfectly cut and might be a bit longer than stated. You are doing things right and I will buy again!

It's good quality wood oestrike grind obviously no knots the only thing I don't like about it it's in the dimensions 2 X 3 doesn't normally fit what I carve 2 and 1/2 by 3 and 1/2 would be better but I can alter my carvings to make it work I would recommend purchasing from this dealer.

Cut each piece at an angle on table saw,sanded, applied Tung oil, laser engraved, then two coats of polyurethane.

I am disabled, I carve to stay busy, so basswood is good for carving,, great deal.

The quality has little to be desired as it has many blemishes and if project was not to be painted I would have been very disappointed with it quality.

This basswood was listed for beginners and easy to use for carving. The wood I received was more like hardwood. It had to be cut with an electric saw and just trying to make any carvings with a wood cutting knife, it would chip off big pieces and splinter. I had to use wood filter to patch up some of the places where it would splinter badly. So finally after a few days of trying to work with this it went into the trash. I don’t know what I’m going to do with the other two pieces. Maybe put them in the fireplace.

I bought this wood because I wanted to try my hand at woodcarving because I enjoyed watching others carving wood on YouTube. I am very happy with my purchase and attached my first attempt at woodcarving. It is unfinished but it was a lot of fun to carve with a Kutzall and Dremel. I highly recommend this wood if you want a soft, light wood to carve.

A bit harder then expected but 100 percent usable. Fully dried, perfectly finished at the advertised size with no knots though one piece had some minor discoloration and has been used with no problem cutting, trimming, sanding or finishing. I'll probably buy again when and if needed.
