Absolutely wonderful. One of the few (only?) journals that is refillable and has a lined paper option with an uneven edge to the paper. The cover is also beautiful. Would give 6 stars or more.

I ordered a number of leather bound journals as Christmas gifts in 2022, and from the four I purchased, this one is my favorite.The workmanship and quality of the leather is excellent.The stone in the tree of life is fixed well, and shouldn't fall off.The journal itself is stitched, front and back, instead of glued. The material smells like leather, and the dye doesn't bleed on anything.The paper is tied to the journal in the center with twine, which I really like.There is a place at the top of each page for the date.The pages are well cut and the lines match up from front to back.However, it's not made from the best paper, it's heavy like card stock, which I don't care for.I've only used a fountain pen and it doesn't bleed or feather, which explains why the paper needs to be heavier. I guess we can't have it all.The only issues I have are; the journal won't lay flat, I can't start writing at the beginning of each line because the paper bows to the right at the front of the journal, and then bows to the left at the back. All in all, I love this journal, and ended up buying one for myself. This journal makes a perfect gift for almost anyone.

Beautiful journal cover. I just received it so I can only speculate that the cover is sturdy. It definitely seems like it will hold up to normal use just fine. The leather is rigid, not soft. It is also thin. The dimensions of the cover are 8" x 6", but the refill you will need is a little smaller. I was hoping i could use it as a cover for some existing small notebooks that i have, but the dimensions are a little off. The measurement of the writing pages insert (when open) is 11 7/8 inches by 7 3/4 inches. The insert is 3/4 inch thick when closed. The paper is wide ruled and has a spot in the top, right, of each page (front and back) formatted for the date. The cover of the insert is thin card stock, so I'll probably sacrifice a couple extra pages to use as reinforcements to prevent the cover from coming off easily as mentioned in another review. I thought the "stone" was going to be turquoise, that is my fault for not zooming in. I included a close-up picture showing the cabochon for others out there on smaller screens. It is still very pretty. Overall, I would say this is a great buy. I think it would make a great gift. It's so pretty that I want to leave it out in plain site, so maybe it wasn't the best choice for private thoughts, lol.
