I read this book in one sitting, cover to cover. I could not put it down. Michelle's experience was brutal and horrifying... I had to take a deep breath as I read her account of the vicious attack she experienced. What I took away from this book was her profound insight into her response to being a victim of a crime. She has clearly spent the years since the event working towards understanding her healing process. The psychological insight was fascinating and deeply moving. I can only imagine what reading this book would mean to other victims of crimes. I believe it would be a roadmap towards hope.

I read this book in one day, cover to cover. I was moved, shaken, filled with hope and faith throughout, and I can honestly say that my life is changed because of it. Michelle shares her story so that others might understand what is possible. If more people could take even the smallest crummy things that happen to them and use them for learn, teach, and grow, our world would be full of hope and light. The worst thing happened to Michelle, and she is out there crusading for love. There is nothing more beautiful. Would rate 100 stars if I could! -Colleen

Beautifully written autobiographical account of the devastating impact violent crime has on victims and the importance of those responsible for justice - from officers to medics to physicians and forensic nurses, prosecutors, and victims’ advocates - to approach victims with empathy, understanding, and patience. While the terrifying crime is certainly part of the story, the focus is on the journey from victim to survivor and I hope it serves as inspiration and a ray of hope for other survivors, and that it offers professionals a reminder to always strive to be better.

Michelle tells her story of a horrific attack of three men one night when she was walking into her own home. God has used this beautiful woman to tell her story and give hope and courage to others. What a powerful story of faith over fear. So thankful for detective Arthur Billingsley Who saved her that night and for Chris, her husband, whose love and support was unfailing. May God continue to bless Michelle and her sweet family as she continues to tell her true story and help others.

Michelle Corrao’s book was raw, real, and inspiring. Her vulnerability helped us, as readers, to feel a close connection to her. This book inspires readers to know that there is always a glimmer of hope even in life’s toughest time. This book also is a great resource for victims of sexual assault. I am inspired to embrace the joy that happens daily and to always have a strong faith in God.

I really can’t put into words the story and the message, so I won’t even try to. But...we all need inspiration in different ways, and at different times. I definitely recommend all to read this book. Victims, survivors and Everyone knows a victim if they realize it or not. Reading this gave me chills, tears and smiles - I think this will help all to open their eyes to what others go through. So happy this story took a great turn! Gwen S.
