Excellent curious minds
My children enjoyed watching the caterpillars grow and releasing the butterflies in the wild.8 out of 10 formed crystalises. 6 out of 10 caterpillars became butterflies. They emerged different days. 1 emergrd 2 days after. There were 3 but only 1 was translucent and light tan in color. The other 2 where smaller and nearly black.I made tge mistake of thinking the lid was supposed to be removed, once all the catipellers "attached" themselves to the lid. I believe I was supposed to wait until they all formed their chrysalis. When I removed the lid and put it in the holder, a few caterpillars decided to crawl to top of habitat. I don't think this affected their survival as the 1 each that did emerge where on lid and on roof of habitat. It just made visually watching them more difficult.

Wonderful Learning Experience
My first item arrived damaged and an entire container of caterpillars were lost and died in the box. I decided to return the item so I requested a shipping label. In the meantime my students could not fathom the idea of getting rid of the other container of caterpillars so I held off on returning until the new package arrived. The new package arrived today and now the hard part is determining if I will have to keep both because once the kids see more caterpillars I am sure I will have to keep them. But I don't even mind because the company responded so quickly with a replacement and the kids are ecstatic about the project we are doing. So thank you Amazon and Insect Lore Products.

A great way to learn
I got this for my nephew for his 4th birthday. He said he wanted "butterflies", so I thought this would be cool gift. At first, when they were caterpillars, he wasn't too interested, but they grew pretty quickly and then formed their cocoons. After that he would check them every day to see if they turned into butterflies yet. Finally they did and he was so excited. He got to put a couple of his orange slices in the net to fee them. After a couple of days he said goodbye and got to let them go in his yard. The whole process took about 3 weeks from when the package arrived to the release. The container for the caterpillars was perfect, they just stayed in there and did their thing until they were cocoons so no one had to touch them. I would absolutely recommend this for kids.

Butterfly Garden Delight
Bought this for my 8 year old niece as a birthday gift. All the caterpillars arrived alive, made chrysalis, hatched into Painted Lady butterflies and were released. They said it was the most joyful experience and the best gift!! A great nature teaching tool and a memory to treasure forever. 🦋 💕

Get it!!!!
I am a preschool stident and I purchased this kit with two caterpillar cups to show my students the life cycle of butterflies. For the entire time this was the topic of discussion between the students and each other and also with their parents. Everyone (teachers, students, and parents) were excited for the next step. We were sad to release them bug I uploaded my entire experience on youtube for anyone to see. Look up butterfly project with Amani and you should be able to find it. Doing it is a whole new level of cool😎 highly recommend and will probably purchase next year (or maybe the ladybug kit first for a change).

Only one caterpillar survived and hatched!
One of the containers of caterpillars had live and dead ones in it when we opened it. None of those survived. The other one had live ones and only had one turn into a butterfly. Very disappointing. This was an expensive failure.
