CakePlay Isomalt Nibs - Clear 7 Ounce

This isomalt is very easy to use and melts very well simply using a microwave. I bought  this mold , as well as  others , to use in making my son's wedding cake. It turned out amazing, you can see the results in the photo. Here is a great  pastry tip set with instructional videos  to use in decorating your cake. Here are the  cake pans I used ...my new daughter-in-law changed her mind on the shape after I bought the pans, I simply baked extra cake to sculpt the wedding cake into octagons instead of squares. Gotta love it, huh? Oh yea, this is a review...LOL I highly recommend  these molds , they work great!

This ready to use isomalt was truly far easier to use than I expected. It's thick so it doesn't run behind the cookies. It's forgiving on uneven textures, and it's honestly not much hotter than hot glue, so, minimal burns and crying here. It hardens like a rock, which is great for the cookies, but not so much for removing it from the pyrex measuring cup I was pouring from. I soaked my pyrex cup in hot water for about 15 minutes and it all dissolved in that time. Perfect easy clean up. My silicone mat has a little texture to it, which i didn't want for my snowglobes, but I discovered, I could use my creme brulee torch to buff them out after the isomalt cooled (however I ran out of butane, so I conceded that the texture was actually quite lovely.) Overall, I enjoyed working with it, and my cookies were the hit of the office christmas party, which was the end goal. Thanks CakePlay!

Super easy to use. First time using worked out great made snow globe cookies for my grandkids. Great product

Fast and easy to melt. Easy to use . I made a handle for a beer mug cake and the beer flowing from the beer bottle .

Easy to work with. It gets extremely hot so get the heat gloves. Dries pretty fast. Made diamonds out of them. They are edible not much of a taste. But loved the outcome. Will buy again.

This is my first time using Isomalt nibs. I made “Edible Agates” as a cake decoration. The nibs were easy to melt in a glass measuring cup in the microwave. It accepted flavoring okay (I used almond) and I did not need any special type of food coloring. Just ordinary food coloring did the job. I also used powdered and gel as an experiment and they actually all worked well. I poured the isomalt directly onto a silicone mat and had no problems. It was a fun project!

Works great and easy to use. $13 is kind of a lot of 7 oz but your also paying for convince which I understand. This worked perfect for what I needed it for. I used this to make crystals for a cake and also used it to make a geode heart cake topper with rock candy

The media could not be loaded.  I was too lazy to make my own, so i purchased these ahead of time, for my uncle's birthday cake. Everyone loved the taste, and it really brought the cake together!
