I thought is would be great when I made my bias binding using the Clover bias binder maker. The iron is very clumsy and keeps falling over, also it does not seem to get hot enough to press the creases. I hardly use it, just wasted my money. **Q: What is the difference between the basic and the 2020 version?** A: I have no idea. Read the description for both and I am sure you will receive your answer **Q: Will this work to put on patches for denim jeans?** A: I don’t see why the mini iron wouldn’t work on patches. I would recommend that you check the heat setting on the patch to make sure our iron gets hot enough to make it adhere. **Q: How big is the shank? Like the part that fits into the iron? 1/4? It works great for pressing seams. If I try to use a full size iron, I find that I iron all the other seams that I don't want to iron and it is very frustrating. This puts an end to all that frustration! I really didnt think something like this would really work. It doesnt look like it would even get hot enough.
