perfect kitten and cat chewing wire protectors !!
WOW! my new kitten has been chewing through ANY and ALL cords in our house! This createstes an electrical danger bor the kitten and the house. I have been endlessly learning about which cord coverd would work! i found these and my kitten doesn’t like the thick rubber that surrounds the cord. YES!!!!!!!This is exactly what ive been looking for. I need a longer cord because there wasn’t enough to cover more than 9 feet. i need something longer so i can make sure the xbox 360 and other multiple cords behind the TV are protected!!!!

Works well
Used for a bumper on my corner kidney shelf that hit the cabinet when fully extended. Worked perfectly for my purpose. Keeps the cabinet from getting damaged. I liked the split in the tube that makes it easy to install.

Silicone is soft: the harder clear plastic protectors are a much better deterrent to chewing.
These may suit you only if your pet is not a highly motivated chewer or your purpose is something else such as keeping your original electric cord clean. This product appears to be the only cord protector of this style which is made of silicone- the others in this style are made of a harder clear plastic material )or solid black in a couple cases).I would not have ordered these if I had noticed that they were made of silicone as silicone is a soft + potentially chewy material which may be of interest to Pets to chew. I had successfully used the harder clear plastic cord protectors to protect cords from pets and to keep the cords that were on the floor clean' but ordered this item specifically because they were 13', whereas most of the other clear cord protectors are a standard 10'.... however, most electric appliance cords to be protected are 6' long- which use of a 10' cord protector leaves one with short 4' lengths of cord protector left.I saw that this 13' cord protector would take care of two standard 6' electric appliance cords. Before this cord arrived I had discovered a seller that sold the harder clear plastic cord protectors in multiple lengths of 10', 20', + 50" and was deciding if it would be more cost effective to order a 50' length. I re-read the reviews for this item and noticed the review wherein the purchaser had posted images of this item after their cat had chewed the cord- which did not make sense as the plastic cord protectors are very strong, and then I realized that these cords were made of a softer silicone. When I had first seen the word silicone in the description, I still wasn't sure if they were really made of silicone because sometimes if its a foreign seller- there is sometimes a wrong choice of words in description of a product; however, upon receipt this cord was indeed made of the softer silicone, hence it's easy to understand how a cat had chewed through this cord protector. The silicone may possibly even attract pets as it's soft, spongy, + could be considered 'chewy'. material. From past experience I know that dirt + debris also tend to cling to silicone so I would think that any hair or debris on the floor would collect on this silicone product. However, depending on one's purposes, these cord protectors may suit some people. For example, if their cord is not on the floor + their purpose is not primarily to prevent pets chewing through electric cords or if the pets are not aggressive chewers, these cords are softer + more flexible + could be preferred to harder, stiffer clear plastic cord protectors. However, if one's purpose in buying a cord protector is to protect Pets and cords from a pet chewing through them- then I recommend one buy the clear, harder plastic traditional cord protectors. One company makes those plastic cord protectors not onlt in clear plastic but in a solid black (I specified the clear ones only so that readers do not confuse the traditional smooth plastic cord protectors with other cord covers meanr to organize cords (most of which are cord organizers and the casing is a corrugated, thin + more brittle material).I also want to comment that the harder plastic cord protectors that form a spiral wrap around electric cords are also not the best protection for pets as their teeth can easily slip between the sections of spiral wrap, and also that dirt accumulates inside the spirals- sticking to the plastic. The best protection for cords from pets are the harder solid plastic cord protectors which commonly come in a clear plastic but can be found sold by a couple sellers in both clear + in an opaque black, both in lengths of 10', 20', 50':'PetCords XL 20 FT Heavy Duty, Extra Strength Dog and Cat Cord Protector- Protects Your Pets from Chewing Through Insulated Cables for Tough chewers - Unscented, Odorless, Clear 20 FEET'.It turns out that the same company either makes or just sells the following citrus scented plastic cord protectors:if your pet is an aggressive chewer, there are the clear [harder-than-silicone] plastic cord protectors in a length of 10" but scented with an unpleasant citrus scent to deter chewing:'Cord Protector - CritterCord - A New Way to Protect Your Pet from Chewing Hazardous Cords'.That company also makes/or sells a narrower clear plastic mini-cord protector version that is suited for thinner electric cords such as phone chargers, USB cords- in 6' lengths which is also scented w/citrus as a deterrent:'CritterCord Micro Cord Protector'.While these silicone cord protectors are softer and more pliable than the clear, or opaque black, harder ones made of plastic, and because debris sticks to a silicone surface, I would recommend the use of ones made of silicone for electric cords that are off the ground and would recommend them only as cord protectors for pets that are non-aggressive chewers; otherwise, the firmer, plastic cord protectors are safer for pets as they are more difficult for pets to chew through (these silicone ones are soft + rather spongy).

Stationary wires only
I bought this to cover my phone charging cable, to keep my rabbits from chewing it. Unfortunately the gap in the tubing and the heavy rubber material doesn’t hold the cable inside of it. It slips right out. I ended up taping the tubing closed to keep the cable inside. I would only recommend using this for stationary wires, or cables that would not be moved around often (if at all). The rubber is thick and heavy, which is great. So it’s a decent product otherwise. In fact, my rabbits have not even tried to chew it.

I have a cat who chews all my cords
This cord covering is just what I was looking for, for a couple of cords. My cat keeps eating cords, so far she hasn't touched this. Happy with it.

Not really effective
At the spots where the cord and protector bend, the slit opens exposing the wire. I ultimately went with and according conduit type protector

Easy to use
It doesn't has a flavour as far as I know so don't know why that question was on the review! I draw the line at chewing on cables to review the flavour. Sorry guys!

To soft to be animal proof
It keeps cables nice and tidy but its very soft so sure my cat could bite straight through this but so far he hadn't tried

Not fit for purpose
Unfortunately the product was not fit for purpose. I applied the tubing quite easily but when the tubing warmed up or the wire that it covered was moved. The tubing opened and the wire was exposed
