Office 2016 For Seniors For Dummies (Office for Seniors for Dummies)

First: I have not read this as a book, cover to cover. I doubt most do not. I am still trying to get it to fit....like fighting to get those new socks over your heel the first time. What I have not been able to find are some - to me - basic questions. First, I just upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 in a new HP lap top. Windows 2016 is like trying to learn to drive a new car with an un-lighted dash, with all it's computer do-dads. While typing my message frequently disappears. Just POOF! And it's gone. Then how to pull up Drafts? to have a look there. Then how to pull up Deleted? to see if it's there. And Sent? To see if it's there! Sometimes I have to re-boot to find it. And if it's in, say, Drafts.. ..It won't let me send it on to the person I wished to address it to; or continue writing my message. AND these kinds of HELPS I can NOT find in this Office 2016 for Senior Dummies. Windows 7 had almost everything you needed visually on the same page! How to even FIND drafts? And why do letters I'm typing disappear in an instant? I'm not aware I touched anything! Why not have a paragraph that says something like: If the item you are typing suddenly disappears, that's because you (and list things that could cause it) and then give you A,B,C, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, steps to take to FIND the thing!Maybe such information is in this book, but I've not found it yet! And in THAT, I am very disappointed and frustrated enough to occasionally say very loudly a nasty swear word like:.....Oh, "Dad Gum it!" Merry Christmas reader.

This book (unlike another publication for Microsoft Office Windows 10) is for beginners, so some of the explanations are very basic, but it has detailed illustrations as well as text, very helpful feature for those of us who learn visually and like diagrams included with the instructions. This is a good "show and tell" text for those who have little or no academic or technical training with WORD.

It took a while to get used to the new way of doing things in WORD (my old WORD 2000 and Windows Vista were a lot easier). However it seems to be getting easier as I go along.

I like the "seniors" approach. I learned a lot as I had recently purchased a new computer and was going from Windows XP with an old version of Office. Still I had questions for which I couldn't find answers in this book. I would still recommend it though.

I'm a baby boomer that resents technology but this is good at answering what questions I've had so far. One note, the one I got is obviously used with stains and worn pages and I paid full price for new.

Got it for me Dad but the writing was too small.

Bought the wrong book gave it to the library in our small town the did not have it .😊was happy to get it

Only recently received so cannot give in-depth review. However, I am pleased with what I read so far. It appears easy to follow with clear instructions and illustrations that I can recognise and relate to when sitting at my laptop. More importantly, it uses very simple language, which is perfect for me!

Sold as almost new. Vary, very, very, slight mark on cover. Brilliant price, brilliant book.

Thoroughly recommend this well set out books. The content is shown in an intelligent manner and the steps are shown clearly and logically. Have used the Dummies series before for other tasks. Thoroughly recommend!
