Overcoming Emotional Eating God's Way (Christian Books)

New Perspective
After having 6 children and then hitting menopause, it's been very hard to lose weight even though I have tried many diets. But this book, Overcoming Emotional Eating God's Way, has given me a new perspective. Since I read it, I find myself stopping to think more seriously before mindlessly eating. As a Christian I do believe our bodies a temples of the Holy Spirit and God wants us to treat them well. Kimberly Taylor articulates this very well in her book and gives us ammunition and practical advice. I am just starting to apply the principles in this book but so far so good. I even bought a copy for a friend. With God's help and this book, I am excited to finally overcome emotional eating God's way. Thank you & God Bless you Kimberly. :)

God power lives in me.
I love the book. It open my eyes to satan's lies in how he wanted me to see my self. God showed me through this book just how much more he loved me in-spite of how I see my self. That I can do all things through Christ who gives me the strength. That I am the righteousness of God through Jesus Christ. Whatever Jesus Christ is i possess all his attributes as well. Thanks you Lord for seeing me for what i did not see. Now i can face any obstacles with the power of the holy spirit that lives in me.

Spot on but One Star off
The content is spot on!It briefly touches on general food choices and their effect on the brain. But the bigger battle is the spiritual. Taylor lays out the principles for overcoming strongholds as revealed in Gods Word.I took one star off because it seems overpriced. The book is 98 pages but the margins are huge, the font large, and only one sentence for most paragraphs. Each page has only 4-6 sentences.I read the entire book in less than 30 minutes. Its more like a long article or booklet.

It gave me a Godly perspective which I was looking for.
I have gone through a lot emotionally and due to past physically and emotionally trauma leaned on food to make me feel better emotionally. Unfortunately this lead to a reliance on food and not on God. Which in turn turned into a false trust in the idol i created in my life was a reliance on food. Once I dealt with these I need to renew my mind on what a true reliance was and looked like. I am so ever grateful what this book brought me trough and lead me to a a reliance on God instead of food.

It's Okay
The book itself was little more than a pamphlet and when I started to read it, a few pages fell out, not really worth what I paid for it. The content of the book is good because I'm a Christian and she was spot on with that. I was just disappointed about the "quality" of the book itself.

SO GOOD!!
I am enjoying this book SO MUCH! I struggle with emotional eating and this book lays out clearly the struggle of emotional eating and how to battle it - under God's strength and His grace! The battle belongs to the Lord- but we have work to do as well! Kimberly Taylor gives us a game plan to do just that. Thank you Kimberly!
