Good tools if you aren’t splicing every day
I got this set of fids to splice 3/8” dyneema line, and it worked well. I used all three sizes, but mostly the middle one. They worked well for everything I needed. After 10 or so eye splices and several button knots they showed no particular wear, but I could feel them flexing as I worked. They did what I needed 100 percent

The three sizes cover most of the needs I have to create rope products out of diamond braid rope.

For the cost
For the cost they did what I needed and finished the job. They do fit inside each other and take up very little space. Yes was worth the money.

Makes rope mods a breeze!
If you're planning on splicing rope for rope mods on climbing sticks these are great! I was on the fence on rather they would be worth the money or if I could just push the rope through when splicing... After doing it, I can attest that these make the job 100% easier and highly recommend. I would like to see them priced at about five bucks though.

not easy to use because of overall diameter
These fids are inexpensive but difficult to use because they are plastic and have a thick wall diameter that limits yourability to insert into amsteel. For my usage, aluminum fids work better.

Too large for labeled line sizes!
Purchased this set after the 1/4" fid in my Samson set grew legs & walked off. The 1/4" fid in this set is nearly the same outside diameter as the 7/16" fid in my Samson set, and larger than the 3/8" fid, making it completely useless for splicing 1/4" dyneema. Gave it 2 stars because I guess it's OK if you're goofing around with cheaper/looser braided lines, and size isn't critical...

Correct size
Didn’t have a slot to secure the rope to the needle, So I made one wrapped the rope with tape inserted rope into needle tape down

Perfect for the job
Used this to make some loops in a ski rope that got all busted up from winding around a propeller shaft. Worked great.
