I received this as a gift for Christmas and it's probably one of my favorite sketchbooks I've ever had! The paper is thick enough that it can hold the ink of my Copics and inking pens, as well as have a great texture with my colored pencils! Graphite stays on nicely, but can also be smeared around for just pencil work, however, be careful since with my luck, many of my pencil sketches have smeared a lot on the previous page, as well on the piece of art I'm working on. It holds up well in my book bag throughout the school days, and does extremely well during travel, not a single fold or dent in the metal rings! I would recommend this to any artist who wants a smaller book to carry around, whether it be during school or just out and about in a purse!

Paper is nice and thick. Takes wet media well. Has some texture but that does not seem to affect over all use. I recommend this and will be purchasing a larger book as well.

I was looking for some good-quality paper to handle almost every medium. I don't stick to one medium every time I draw, so I needed something good. I picked this one because the reviews were promising, and I just needed something small and durable. This ended up being exactly what I wanted. I almost wish this sketchbook had more than 30 pages, but hell, I'm probably going to buy another one of these when I fill it up. It's small, lightweight, and has thick paper that's absolutely perfect. Ideal for my life as I'm usually on a constant move. I haven't tested it with watercolors or colored pencils yet, but it handled pen and alcohol markers beautifully. My markers didn't bleed through onto the next page at all, even with multiple layers of color! Alcohol markers are a favorite medium, so this is huge for me. Highly recommend if you need something small but reliable :)

I'm not sure if I should give 5 stars yet, but I may well update this. My first page (and only page) painted so far was with watercolor. I taped off a margin, painted wet on wet, and the paper could handle a lot of water. I heated the tape to make it easier to remove, and it came up pretty cleanly. The page did buckle/curve a bit, but that's easy to fix, and it was so very wet that I'm not surprised. Why not 5 stars? I want to try this out a bit more: marker, acrylic, and pencil to see how this paper handles these mediums.

I’ve been using Canson xl mixed media sketchbooks for years. This is a noticeable upgrade. The paper quality is lovely. I’ve used this book for: pencil ink watercolor gouache conte crayon, no problem on either side of the paper.

I loved

High quality thick paper! I love the “portable” size of this sketchbook, fits perfectly in my hand without it looking super bulky. The paper withstands water quite a bit, although it does “roll” up a little although I’m sure this can be remedied by using a masking tape border so you don’t paint on the edge of the paper. Overall, it’s really amazing quality for the price.

Canson makes excellent paper.
