How good is it for picking up burned screws from pallets?

It is a great piece of kit. It has lifted my 16oz hammer, no problem. I sort screws by sticking this in my box and lifting out a dozen at a time! I am a carpenter

When extended, is the tool sturdy, can it lift the maximum weight 16lb/7.2 kg when horizintal at full extension?
