Carry this thing in my trunk with some of my fishing gear. Only thing I had to do was put some decent braided line on but after that it was solid. Baitcasters take some skill and experience to use but this will get you started. Not for everyone. But I looks good and is cheap enough. Would recommend to anybody just getting into fishing.

When it comes to backlash Aaron L., that has nothing to do with the reel and has everything to do with your casting technique and the fine tuning of the reel for the weight of your lure prior to the first cast. If you backlashed on the third cast so bad that you tossed out your reel, then you don't seem to understand how to use a bait caster. Backlash and birds nests happen for various reasons but can mostly be avoided by fine tuning your reel every time you change lures, using light casts not putting to much muscle behind it (you want to let the reel do the work), and making sure that your line is wound properly during the previous retrieve (not loose or overlapped). The bait caster reel is not a spinning reel and should not be treated like one.

Shrate out of the box the real did not work

With a bass boat packed full of fairly expensive gear, I didn't have super high expectations for a teloscopic rod and reel at this price point but I wanted something to carry when riding dirt bikes and ATVs. I have been very happy with it so far though. The rod has very good feel with a soft enough tip and stiff enough backbone that it works well in any situation. I can cast very light lures as well as fairly heavy stuff very well, which also says a lot about the reel. I have caught crappie in open water on small lures as well as very decent bass in thick vegitation with no problems. I also purchased one for my Son who keeps in behind the seat in his truck. He has had the same results I have.

Hard to extend and tract,but is sturdy and cast easy.good for price

I keep this travel rod on my golf cart for pond hopping and had no trouble reeling in this mega 47”, 50lb+ cat baby! Very strong rod! Worth every penny! However, arms were jelly from battle so I had a hard time holding her up, she was almost bigger than me lolTaryn K

I love this rod and reel set up! The reel is fast with the 8.1 and the pole has awesome flex. On a better note I had this set up for about two months and the tip of the pole broke. I was bumming. I email the company they had me snap a picture of the broken pole and are sending me a new one amazing costumer service Tina you’re amazing to. Thank You! So much. I will definitely buy another sougayilang from them. Perfect!!! 5 star’s!!
