Ritchie Navigation Explorer Compass,

I really like this compass, however, I purchased it for a motorcycle, and it's too big. I used to be a mariner, this is a nice compass for a boat, or other, if you have the room? It's accurate, easy to read, it has a built-in light, mounting is straight forward and simple. If I still owned a boat, I would keep this compass. I will say, if they ever make a mini, of this exact compass, (motorcycle friendly) it would be a good seller, as the others I've tried, have issues, and aren't accurate. This compass proved to work great, and is really accurate on a motorcycle, however, it's just too big. I'm sure this will work awesome for a boat, or other, however, just make sure you have enough room, as it's larger than it looks in the photo.

I purchased this for my new lake pontoon boat. ...it only had a tiny 8-point digital compass. I mounted it into a cup holder. Works perfectly. ...my 4th Ritchie compass... (the best?) -RadioRichNH

I bought this compass to replace the original one on my 1986 Boston Whaler. I am sitting here in 2026 looking to replace it because last time I took my boat out, I noticed there was a lack fluid in the compass. _It appears like the globe is cracked and the fluid leaked out or some seal dried out and it leaked. I got about eight years of service out of my purchase. I will replace it with the same unit today.

I put one on my 18’ Ranger 180F Pontoon boat, was concerned about room on the dash and it looking good.... and not only does it fit, but it looks great. No boat of mine will ever not have a compass. The Ritchie brand is well known and I’ve seen them all over the water now and growing up.... No magnetic calibration was needed at all in my circumstance.

Very Easy to install. The price is great, the best I could find. Very easy to read. Accurate.Seems to hold up well against the toughest of weather, including 100 degree heat and sun in Canada, still worked after getting wet in rain and from waves. Had a similar model previously to buying this one that was on the boat when we purchased it used over 10 years ago, that finally wore out leading us to buy this new one.

Item was exactly as described and delivered the day after it was promised. It was a gift to my husband, and he liked it!! It will make boat navigation a breeze.

Great compass, easy to install, all hardware in the box, just the right amount of back light for night time cruisin, quality product.

Great value for the money. Had my first unit for almost thirty years before buying its replacement ... works well ... only disappoint was that the mounting yoke is now plastic ... the original one was metal ... other than that ... nice unit for the money! I trust it to work properly!
