LOTS OF BAG FOR YOUR $$$$
I'll have to say these speakers are quite nice they look amazing and sound amazing first off. For the price you would be hard pressed to find anything in this category that sounds this good. I'm using these with the loft 30 center. And a Onkyo NR383 reciever. Now back to the speakers them selfs. I've had these guys for about a year now and all I can say is wow. These baby's really hit the hi and mids very well and as far as bass is concerned they shake my house at 75 percent power. Now in the beginning these sounded a little harsh but as they broke in they have slowly by surely sounded better and better and now every person that comes over to my house to watch movies and do some parting tell me how great they sound. My best advice for any person that is getting into building your own home theater system. Is to get a amazing reciever the better the reciever the better everything is going to sound. Sure you could buy 500$+ speakers but if you don't have the brains and balls to run those speakers they will sound s***ty.

Worth it
All I can say is wow. I use this in a small theater and they are corner loaded so the bass sounds great. Being so thin, they can but put in spots that you can't with most speakers with this amount of speakers. They aren't B&W or Klipsch but at this price point ($218 a pair) I don't think you can find a better set. Also, got here super fast via shipping from distributor. Only reason they didn't get 5 stars is I took in the original price of $600 into account. I have already recommended these to others.

Overpriced, poorly designed, but good looking.
Not worth over 95.00 per speaker. Very high and peaky. Requires constant equalization. Use in conjunction with PC audio card (Creative Z, ASUS Etc.) to pull (by pull I mean force) the mids out. Lows are non existent.Bottom line: Actual value = $85.00 per speaker, pay $90.00 per speaker max; under $85.00 would qualify (imo) as a good deal.

Nice for the price!
So I too read the reviews - thanks guys! I have to agree with the gentleman who allowed time to break in the speakers...positioned them in opposite corners of the 15 x 20' space. They do sound better if you utilize the room corners to simulate a cabinet. I have to admit, the larger speaker cabinet is sorely missed. After replacing my Pioneer 120's, I agree, in that the bass is lacking.New research - looking for a suitable subwoofer. BIC Americ F12 came highly recommended. We shall see.In the meantime, I was impressed with how the clarity of the mids and highs were preserved as you increase the volume. There wasnt any distortion.Crisp highs and mids. The bass was kinda "punchy". Its just the bass isnt bassy enough for my taste. Still a great speaker for the price and the space.Oh and btw - the seller did an outstanding job packing and shipping them! They arrived as anticpated. I would definitely revisit Discount Jungle again.

I was thinking this is the best for me
Honestly was a bit skeptical buying these for the price, and possibly the looks.I have been looking for clear, warm, natural sound. Having THREE midrange drivers, I was thinking this is the best for me. The sound these produce is quite nice, not the best, but for the price I dont think much will touch it. Clear, focused, very natural sounding speaker. Bass is definitely strong and present but the use of a subwoofer is recommended. Large height wise, but small foot print. The speakers need some space for the side firing woofers to breathe though.Asthetics - Not GREAT, (up close) but a handsome set when placed next to a TV, the slim profile make them look modern but a close up look at the details make them look slightly cheap (but they are!)Bottom line: If you are not looking for Martin Logan type audio, but you want a GREAT and INEXPENSIVE set, these work very well.

AMAZING CLARITY!
These are really good speakers. They sound really clear. Highs are great. Mids are just right. The bass is lacking. But it's only a 6.5" bass driver. So I didn't expect a lot of bass. But you wil want to add a sub. I payed $180 for them an are worth it. They look great and are slim. Great for all types of music. Another win for JBL.UPDATE:Ok, so after a while when these speakers have broken in they sound even better! As for BASS, I've found out that if you position one in each corner of your room and angle them towards the listening area the bass uses the corner and the acoustics of the room as an amplifier due to the ports are on the back. You will be amazed with the sound of these if you position them right! A++

Expanded The Soundscape
I've had the JBL Loft 50 speakers for about 3 weeks and have enjoyed them. They added a stylish look and sound to my home theater. They definitely expanding the soundscape when watching movies and television. They sound great with music, but I use them mostly for movies.Overall, I am happy with these speakers and have decided to stay with the Loft series. I recently ordered the Loft 40 as my rear speakers.

Good detail and adequate low end
Just for light music and t.v. listening when I dont want to fire up the whole home theater.Because they are a passive speaker system, they utilize every watt my Yamaha amp delivers in 2 channel stereo mode.Good detail and adequate low end. With 4, 6.5' woofers, for light listening, don't even use a sub.Excellent, inexpensive JBL'S. Tempted to purchase another pair. ONE CAN NEVER HAVE TOO MANY SPEAKERS!
