Chrysalis Tarot Companion Book

Very Well Written and Interesting but Not a Necessity for Reading the Deck
This book is very interesting if you want in depth information on the author and artistโs insights and reasons for each card. For reading the cards I find I look to the little paper booklet that came with the deck. That booklet has something the larger, expanded book doesnโt, Keywords. For most cards the keywords give me just enough insight for my intuition to provide the personal meaning for whomever I read. The booklet does also offer a concise meaning of each card and more.Iโm glad I purchased this full book to gain insight into the whole background of the deck . It helped get me into the realm of Chrysalis and learn the intricacies of the deck and all the helpers within the cards. Love this deck.

Need to Read THIS and Original Deck Book to get Full Meaning
I'm disappointed you have to look at the card, find the pages for card in the small book and this slightly larger (but still small sized) book, read it all and process it all together. Holly wrote a short story about the origins of her designs, then Toney Brooks input his text, plus text in original small book. The info is new to most of us, due to Holly's use of symbols from various nations and cultures. So it's a lot to process. Then meditate, journal, think about. Whew!I was looking forward to reading ONE book to replace the tiny book (hard to hold and read).OH well ... live and learn. I think I'll go back to where I found Holly Sierra's art, on Pinterest. Maybe just looking at the art will inspire me, although I don't know how many of her Tarot cards are posted.I don't like writing anything negative about this book or the gorgeous deck.BUT IF they ever decide to publish larger cards, to see her gorgeous art better, and ONE book, with all the details in one, easily accessible manner, I'll be a happy camper.I just like to see art and text served well. And this is not quite up to par, in my humble opinion.

Chrysalis Tarot Book Makes the Connection!
I've been reading my Chrysalis Companion book, well like its a new companion. I love this book! I've especially enjoyed being able to pull case studies of cards, and draw deeply from the reservoir of knowledge and myth presented within these pages. This has allowed me to deepen my own intuitions through understanding more of the correlations and associations with cards that come up regularly in my daily readings. Having this book to make quick references between the cards, opens the opportunity to study my own connections and patterns, and become more conscious of the synchronicity presenting in my life. Additionally, this book has inspired me to spend time with my cards in a new way! Studying each card in new context and themes, one by one with each turning page. The Chrysalis Tarot Book is a valuable study guide and reference book for its deck and for understanding the metaphysical world behind it. I love the golden thread woven through this book with art and storytelling, that truly makes a connection through the heart chakra and draws you in closer to relationship with the book's wisdom and maybe more importantly, your own.

A Great Companion to Reading the Deck
This is the perfect companion to the deck. And it's quite different from all the other companion books. That's because it gives you a narrative on each card and not a bullet list of what the card means. YOU are still the reader and YOU still need to interpret the cards. But this book offers great insights into the deck. For example: Papa Legba "Papa was one of my very favorite and most mischievous subjects. When I learned Papa was to be our Strength card, I became very excited. Voodoo has a long history of helping its believers achieve personal goals. Papaholds the key to the gateway between spiritual and physical realms." There's plenty of information about the symbology in each images. It really gave me a greater appreciation of the deck.

Chrysalis Tarot Book (&deck)
I ordered this deck having seen a couple of cards, that were jaw-droppingly beautiful. I collect Tarot and Oracle decks. Having said that, I would have to say, this is one of my very favourites, due to the beauty, sturdy quality & beautiful art of each card. They will last through a lot of (careful) handling. Having ordered the deck first, I was pleased with the LWB, .... but I was over the moon, when Toney Brooks issued a nice book to go with the deck. So much more good info in the book!! Many thanks, the book together with the deck, is the icing on the cake ! Many thanks, L.B.

A profound gift from two evolved souls
The Chrysalis Tarot is far more than a different journey into the Tarot: both Holly and Toney are scholars of Jungian philosophy, ancient history and beliefs, and the meanings of archetypes through the ages. The deck is beautiful, the app a helpful way to stay in touch with the tarot daily, and now the book embodies their gentle philosophy and wisdom in an even more detailed manner. In the wrong hands and an ill-conceived deck, the tarot can often devolve into fearful mystic gobbledygook. However the Chyrsalis tarot is not so - and the book is a further look at this beautiful deck and the thinking behind it. It is both refreshing and informative.

Not my cup of tea
I had a hard time with this deck. I love the art work and the design team did a wonderful job. I even like the concept of the deck. The deck is designed to work the incoming Divine Feminine energy and the age of Aquarius. I can't quite describe why I didn't like the deck. The energy seems a little too childish for the importance of the concept. At one point, my guides told me to get rid of it. So I did. I hope someone really loves this deck could explain their opinion of the deck and why it works for them.

I received this deck as a gift from my daughter. I added it to my wish list and she purchased it after seeing rave reviews on aeclectic.com. I work with many different decks but I am having a hard time with this one. I am working slowly with each card and once it's all figured out I believe it will work for me in my business. I love the artwork and the size and thickness of the cards. I did buy the actual book recently as I was unable to read the little white book due to the amount of information for each card.

not bad, but i wouldnt have bought it had i been able to flick through it first. The author says that the second half of the book are extended interpretations, but i think they are complicated and unnecessary ramblings. I recommend reading the cards intuitively and sticking with the little white book that came with the cards if you need to refer.

One of the most interesting tarot accompaniment book I've ever read. However, if you are looking for a book that does a detailed analysis of each card then it is not the book for you. This book rather deals with the spiritual/historical/psychological/sociological reasoning behind each card.
