This is just another must have on your fownrigger ball. Without a snubber if you grab your ball to remove grass and you accidentally let it go you have a good chance of parting your line. this snubber takes the shock out of abrupt stops and eliminates premature breakage and loss of all your gear.

Bought based on recommendation
I just started using downriggers and it was suggested that I add this snubber to my setup to help keep from loosing my weight if it snags, and to keep from wrecking the downrigger if the snag is severe.

A must have for downriggers.
I run these on my canon mag 10 downriggers and I love them. The downriggers automatically shut off when the line clears the water. These keep the weight in the water so they don’t swing around and damage the boat.

If you downrig you need these
These Scotty weight snubbers make putting your downrigger balls in and out of the water enjoyable, so soft on your hands. I hate cable wire now I don't even know it's there. They are great also for taking the shock and bounce out when the balls are out of the water in wavy conditions. If you have never tried these snubbers you don't know what your missing.
