Great hitch carrier and cargo bag
Love this Hitch mount carrier. It allowed us to save a large space in the van for our dog when we traveled, so we can bring the WHOLE family! Pros: 1. Used it on 2 1400 mile road trips and a couple smaller ones. It has held up beautifully through blazing sun and torrential downpours. Luggage stays nice and dry! 2. The carrier feels well made and sturdy. 3. It comes with some nice extras such as a small lock for the cargo bag, and a hitch received vibration/noise reduction plate. Unfortunately, I lost the plate somewhere in my garage, but was able to find a replacement for less than $10 at harbor freight. 4. The fact that it sits behind the van probably helps on gas milage compared to roof rack style cargo systems. It extends far enough that I'm able to use the lift gate without having to unpack it. 5. I like that I can store the carrier up while not in use. Cons: 1. It is a bit heavy. I'm able to manage as a mid-30s, 6 foot tall man, but some smaller individuals may struggle to carry it on their own. 2. Because it does extend fairly far, be careful about scraping it on the ground while going up/down steep driveways. Future Upgrade? It would be super handy if it had wheels on one side or both and we could disconnect it from the main hitch tube. This would allow us to quickly unload and simply wheel all our luggage to the location we need it without having to unload the entire bag. It would be super convenient when stopping overnight at a hotel to just roll it into our room without unpacking that night then repacking the next morning, just living out of a smaller overnight bag we kept in the van. Not really a con, but I would love to see this option hit the market. All in all, this is a great value for the money ($230 Dec 2024) if you need to pack more items and have a trailer hitch.

Incredible Space Saver
I bought this product for road tripping in our minivan. As you can see, we don't pack light! We additionally optimize the bag by using large vacuum bags (space bags) to pack inside the Mokin bag. With this, we pack for 5 people for 2 weeks of winter (bulky) clothes and need no suit cases or clothes in the van. This leaves room for the passengers to have room for personal items and space to get comfortable and sleep. We used a top mounted cargo container in the past. It just makes noise and hurts the gas mileage. This solution is much better for both. It is quiet and we got 28 MPG on a 1,500 mile run. Further, it is far easier to access this product versus the roof mount. We have taken this product on approximately 10,000 miles. Florida to DC to Wisconsin to Florida both in the winter and in the summer...through snow and rain. Performed well. Picture one is everything out back in the bag and room in the car for a long trip. Picture two is a short distance trip to camping, so there is more gear in the back of the van. Assemble Comment - Assembly was easy; nut and bolts. Did it with my daughter in no time. Only issue, it was easier to put it together upside down on the neck. For some reason the bolt fit better that way, so I assumed it was correct. This caused it to be too low to the ground and scrape. After getting down the road, we realized it needed to be corrected. We stopped flipped it the first rest plaza with basic tools. So, pretty easy to work with. Only issue was having to force the neck pin a little. After that clear sailing. Weatherproof - As I said above, we have run it through 90 in Florida to subzero in Wisconsin through snow and rain. Bag stays dry. Sturdiness - I would say this product is sturdy. The only ding is that it is going to rust eventually if not cared for. We have a minivan. There is not much clearance. Any steep incline is going to cause a scrape on the ground. For example, we scraped leaving the gas station where the slope is down and then quickly up to the street. You need to take it slow and go at an angle. The counter is, if you are a little handy, when you get home from the trip, wash it, sand it and spay paint the affected (scraped) areas. Then put a little WD40 on the nuts and bolts and put it away. For entry level (non-RV people) this is a huge space saver.

Good, not great.
Used this on a 2,000 mile trip and it worked great. Pretty sturdy. The strap design kind of sucks. No, the strap design really sucks. It comes with a license plate mounting bracket, but there are no drilled holes on the frame to actually attach the bracket, so it's a waste, added cost for an unusable feature. I had to zip tie my license plate to it. The hitch stabilizer is a horrible design. It does what it's supposed to do, for the most part, but it'll take some effort on your part to really secure it so that it does. The carry bag is outstanding quality, secure, and waterproof.

Very sturdy and feature rich unit.
Why did you pick this product vs others?: After viewing other similar products and reading some reviews I selected it based on the features it offered. The unit is constructed of strong metal and is coated with a durable paint to help prevent rusting. The unit comes with a plate that can be used to help eliminate excess movement of the hitch piece into the hitch receiver. My only complaint on it was that included washers needed to be a little larger. The included cargo bag is made of a very durable vinyl and also provides protection from water. It also comes with a small combination lock for the dual zippers that close up the bag. There was also a lockable pin that can be used on the hitch to prevent the pin from being pulled and the unit stolen. There were also two ratchet straps included as well as three additional straps and a cargo net. We had a little trouble when we went to raise the platform up. That was due to a small misalignment issue with the pin, but with a little help wiggling the unit the pin slid right through. We were very pleased with the product and would recommend it to anyone looking to purchase this type of device for travel. Storage capacity: The base was one of the largest available and the railing ensured that the items would not slide off of the unit. The unit can support up to 500 pounds.

Perfect Fit for My Tracker – Durable, Spacious, and Easy to Use!
I’ve been using the Mockins 60x20x6 Folding Cargo Carrier on my Tracker, and it’s been incredibly useful. Whether I'm hauling camping gear, coolers, or extra supplies, this carrier has handled it all with zero issues. Why I Love It: 🧳 Plenty of Space: The 60" x 20" platform gives me more than enough room for extra gear, and the 6" sides help keep everything in place. 🔧 Strong and Sturdy: It feels solid and stable, even fully loaded. No wobble, no rust, no rattling. 🚗 Fits My Tracker Perfectly: Mounted to the hitch without a problem, and it rides smooth—even on longer trips. 🔁 Folding Feature is a Win: When I’m not using it, I can fold it up against the back of the vehicle to save space—super convenient. 💦 Weather-Resistant: Left it out in the rain and no issues—paint and welds are holding up great. Final Verdict: This cargo carrier has been a great addition to my Tracker. It’s rugged, easy to use, and gives me that extra storage I need for road trips and outdoor adventures. Highly recommend it to anyone needing more cargo room without the hassle of a trailer! 🛻🛠️

Awesome carrier, held up very well and is sturdy.
The cargo carrier held up really well. We traveled from Texas to California with a fully loaded basket and had no issues. Total round trip was about 1800 miles and we had no issues. No bouncing and nothing came loose. The bag that comes with it is heavy duty and zips up perfectly. Everything was well protected from the elements.

Great Piece of Equipment and excellent customer service.
Had a difficult time on arrival. Was fulfilled by Amazon and what arrived was a repack. Damage to a corner inside the cage, parts scattered around the box, one piece wedged inside another. No assembly instructions. Fortunately, all the pieces were there, and I unwedged the retaining pin. Did not have time to return, so I made do with what I had. Found a youtube video that helped with assembly. Pretty easy and I was able to put it together by myself. Parts are sturdy. Basket light enough for one person to mount in a pinch, but recommend 2. The basket was also sturdy. Anti-wiggle U joint is a great addition. Did not hear or feel any movement during a 500-mile round trip, both loaded and unloaded in the up position. After the initial use, I contacted the seller, Mockins to let them know about the condition of arrival. They responded back quickly and offered a full replacement carrier for my trouble. I did not expect that and didn't have need of a second carrier, as this one was completely functional (after the unboxing angst, which I put squarely on Amazon as fulfillers) so we settled with them comping me a large bungi cargo net. The Cargo bag that came with the carrier is heavy duty. Very thick and it absolutely protected the boxes I put in it. However, it is a few inches short in width. You can get more on the carrier without the bag. It was also 15 degrees F when I loaded everything and learned that I had to really manhandle it in the cold... it lost some pliability... but that is a small price for something so sturdy. I would absolutely buy this carrier again and will be looking for other Mockins products. They are truly committed to making it right, even though they were not at fault for the issues.

Hockey bag must-have
Easily fit my large hockey bag, pack-n-play, and a few duffle bags with room to spare (pictures for reference). Rack was easy enough to put together. You’ll need a good sized crescent wrench for the hardware (socket set helps, but two wrenches work just fine) to assemble. Powder coating is good, but you’re going to scratch it up no matter what you do because you’ll set it on your driveway at some point to put it in the hitch receiver. It’s heavy, but solid. The U-bracket stabilizer is perfect and makes a big difference. The unit sits back pretty far from the car. I was worried about that, but it’s super helpful because you can get into the trunk with no issues. No issues opening the trunk access with this attached and lowered, even with the bag. Can’t open the gate with the rack retracted up, however. I could not see the rack from any of my mirrors, which is awesome because there are no blind spots. Doesn’t block the license plate or rear lights at all. Rear-view camera can see right through the grating when it is stowed in the up position, so no issues there. Honestly, it’s a great product, especially if you don’t want to store a smelly hockey bag in the car with you for a long drive. The storage bag is definitely rain and weather proof, too. We live in Germany now, and parking garages are smaller than in America, but even if we could do a roof rack, this option is MUCH easier to access, and a fraction of the cost. Keep a crescent wrench in the car to tighten and/or take off the support bracket so you can remove the unit if you don’t need it. Recommend a heavy duty wrench because I needed to tap the pin for the retractable feature to get it through. When retracted, the unit is kMUCH closer to the car than when it’s down, which is nice. Again, most rear lift gates can’t be opened if it’s stored in the up position, but it is easy to lowers and retract, as needed. Tie-down straps are perfect. The instructions aren’t great, but play with them a bit and you’ll figure them out. If using the storage bag, the six, black straps are more than enough, but the orange ratchet straps are great if not using the bag, or if you really want to be sure. The red reflector stickers do their job just fine, but if you want better ones, they wouldn’t be hard to add.
