Original one star review:Came in the mail the other day and I was really excited to try them until I saw one was broken.I did not want to use them as one of the chisels turned up in the mail broken and didn't want to void any warranty or try to fix it until getting confirmation that nothing could be done. These are brand new and should come in full operable factory condition, after years of heavy use I could see them splitting but not showing up broken.The shipping and storage box showed up in amazing condition though! This leads me to believe that it was broken before getting put in the wooden box. My guess is going with assembly line lack of quality control as other lower reviews have the same issue.Outside of the broken part, they do feel pretty sturdy, nice handles, and appear sharp. They come with a protective wax over the pre-installed carbide tip so that was impressive. The storage box is pretty decently built and padded so that is a plus.I sent the seller a message here on Amazon and will be glad to update this review pending their customer service.Update 9/20/22:I am holding to my word to update the original review and I just have to give them 5 stars for their customer support. Everything was seamless and ran through with absolutely no issues.The seller was amazingly fast, very understanding, and extremely polite. Customer service was top notch and the replacement tools came in just a few days.According to my husband, who they were originally for, said that they were nice and tight, nothing broken, and cuts like a hot knife through butter!Same packaging as before, very secure, no dings or issues, came in a padded box, and everything was neatly put inside.He makes pens and other things out of acrylic and has been wanting a carbide negative rake chisel set for some time. The pictures of his finished products speak for themselves on how much better and efficient these are when he is shaping acrylics on his lathe.I highly recommend them as a seller, and my husband definitely recommends the tools as he loves these chisels. I just cannot tell you how much I believe that the seller legitimately cares about customer satisfaction, and it definitely shows.Overall very satisfied!

I purchased this is May, 2022 and have used it at least once a week since then. One of the metal collars cracked and I sent a picture of it to the seller. Within a week, I had a brand new set. They responded with an email very quickly and sent the new set within a day. I can't tell you enough how pleased I am with their products.

Arrived in perfect condition.I am a beginner at using a wood lathe. I first tried a set of traditional turning tools but was having problems with how hard they were to learn and that they felt unsafe. Returned the traditional tools and bought this set. The difference is night and day. These tools are super easy to use, I highly recommend them.

Finally bit the bullet and purchased a set. Have had many requests for bottle stoppers and other color laminated items. I was constantly fighting the sharpening of the HSS tools and being on a tight budget started looking at the carbide sets, for the price of this set this fit the wallet.Makes mounds of chips in hard woods, lams and acrylics with minimal effort. With a light touch am able to get an almost finished surface bypassing some of the sanding grit steps.Downside, the headstock interferes with the longer handles on shorter smaller parts, but I am teaching myself how to turn left-handed.Happy Turning

Once you become accustomed to the correct way to present the tool to the workpiece, these tools are very easy to use. I got good results right from the start. I should mention that I am a very new wood turner without loads of experience to draw on.

This scraper was very eay to use even for beginners. It is super sharp & I dont have to stop to sharpen my gouger or scraper when i need more blade, i just twist my blade w the enclosed chuck. The price was great too. Thank you..Sandi Larson

I have not yet used these as the ferrules arrived split. I am aware that the product has a warranty, but couldn;t see shipping it back for a problem I could deal with, so I used epoxy and copper wire and replaced the ferrules, just waiting for the epoxy to set and we'll see how I like them. The appearance is great, everything was as advertised, and the box they come in sure classes up my work space!

I use it for woodturning, the only problem is getting replacement inserts and screws.
