Wow! We no longer have to say ‘cute’ when asked ‘what is he’ :)
We are asked every day ‘what is he’ … So I was so excited to receive the DNA results of our Romanian rescue boii. It was certainly worth finding out the breeds going back to his grandparents blood line, and helpful to know the breeds held within it, 26 breeds found. Unfortunately no siblings were found but helpful to know no specific health issues to be aware of. Well worth finding out the breed percentages too … we did laugh at 20% chihuahua!!!

So now we know
George is a Romanian rescue so we had him tested for a bit of fun. 22 dog breeds were identified with the top ones being chihuahua and german shepherd, but where 22 breeds are involved and the main ones only 10-12% I am not sure that it tells us anything useful. All a bit of fun though and an easy process. Not sure it’s worth the money but quite amusing when we’ve always had spaniels and pointers and end up with a fluffy boy do who is an amazing character and loved whatever he is!

Seems accurate
Seren is a rescue, we got told her mum was a labrador who got caught in doggy day care by no idea what dog, my mam kept saying irish setter, I kept saying golden retriever and loads of others kept saying flat coat retriever, her results seem pretty accurate to us, I didn't send any pictures until after the results came through, only information they had was she is a neutered female, I sent the test off December 19th, they arrived christmas eve and got the results today January 3rd

Amazing results!
We had our rescue lurcher 3 years ago and although I suspected there is saluki and greyhound in him, I wanted to know for certain as it would account for some of his behaviour, which is different from our previous lurcher. All you send to the laboratory is 2 samples of your dog's saliva, no photos or any information whatsoever. Wisdom kept me up to date by email when they recieved and were processing the saliva. Two weeks later came the results and I was amazed! Scout is mainly saluki and greyhound with a few bits ot other ancestry thrown in. They also stated what colour he is and if he has any intolerance to any veterinary drugs, and the number of toes he has!! All of the breeds that are in him are illustrated and their traits explained. His results were cross-matched with other dog owners on the Wisdom database to see if there are any relatives. A photo of a dog that is probably his sister came up on my screen - it is the double of Scout!!! All in all I am so glad I chose this particular test kit, would highly recommend.

Good for health testing
I have 3 dogs all on this database. The first one I had tested is an old tyme bulldog Bear, with NEBBr papers. I wanted him tested because I was hoping to breed depending on health test results. Results were perfect and the breeds that make up an old tyme bulldog were as expected, British Bulldog, mastiff , pitbull. Was happy.Next I tested my Female called Sweetie, She is bully X shar pei. Again, results came back as expected and all health tests were clear, a happy customer .Fast forward a bit, we had a beautiful litter of pups from which I kept a little female called B. I had her tested again with wisdom panel but spent a bit extra and went for the more extensive testing kit.Health results perfect again, so happy about that, but the family tree was baffling. According to B's family tree her Mother Sweetie was a shar pei bully mix, correct. BUT her Dad Bear also came up as a Shar pei bully mix ??? I'd already had him tested as mentioned and nowhere did Shar Pei show in his lineage so how come now it suddenly pops up out of nowhere only on his Daughters profile but not his own ? Doesn't make sense and I contacted Wisdom Panel about this. They told me The family Tree in the Ancestry section is only a theoretical pictorial depiction of what the ancestry would look like and does not scientifically indicate which parents would be carrying what breeds. I was happy with Wisdom panel but now I'm a bit dubious , I would recommend for the health testing only.
