It is not transparent, but it is thin. A good summer weight robe.

The belt is separate with loops. The robe also has side-seam pockets which I love. I have had this robe for maybe 3 years and I still love it - it is very lightweight, folds up small for travel, but still has good coverage. I have been very pleased with this purchase.

Q: Would this fit someone Who is 341 pounds and 5’3” tall

I really don't think this size would fit. It would be too long and too tight. I'm 5'6" and weight 217lbs. It comes to my ankle and fits very well, a little loose, but perfect size for me.

Q: Would this be appropriate for the hospital and a rehab facility ? I’m facing hip surgery.

Yes. The fabric is soft, thick enough and launders well. The sash is held in back with the “sleeve like” attachment, which is so much better than belt loops. The weight is light enough, but still provides coverage. I think it would be great as a robe for hospital and rehab.
