i bought this to use with a cantilever umbrella which doesn't have a central pole that most other umbrella lights require for mounting. (try to resist your mind wandering to pole jokes...)Great product and great service from Grand Patio. The lighting unit, charging USB cable and remote arrived promptly and well packaged but with no documentation. Didn't think much of that since it is just a light - guys never read instructions anyway and besides, how hard can a light be to operate? Well...turns out there is one quirk - to activate the light, you need to press the power button (circle with dot in the middle) for about six seconds before the light will turn on and respond to the remote. If you just press the button briefly, you get a battery charge indication. Once activated it works perfectly.Mounting the unit is simple - just attach a couple of the straps to cross bars on your umbrella - you could use this in other umbrellas or in a tent for camping or other locations.Provides 3 levels of warm light - highest setting is quite bright - middle level is perfect for eating, lowest level is great for conversation.The battery took about an hour to charge and lasts for many hours - I terminated my test after 3 hours at the middle brightness setting, which is quite bright, and still had 3 out of 4 LED's on the battery charge indicator.The remote works well, although it seems to be infrared rather than radio frequency so you need to be line of sight to the light and point the remote at it - that's fine.Great product! Also, Grand Patio was very responsive - at first I couldn't figure out how to turn the light on (no instruction to hold the power button down for a while), and thought it didn't work so I contacted the seller to return it, but in the end I figured it out although seller did offer a refund so you can depend on them to respond.

Light looks and works great manually. The remote doesn’t work. It might need a new battery.

Bought for our offset patio umbrella. Was easy to install and when fully charged last a long time.

Very disappointed with this item contacted seller twice and never received a response. Item not worth the money, never worked after charging item per instructions with remote and when pressed middle button to turn on manually, button detached from unit! Money lost!!!

The instructions are not worded as clearly as they could be with respect to the charging process, but eventually I figured out what was needed. You'll nee to initially charge before use. it's not solar so you need to charge it like your cell phone using the power from your laptop via a USB port or from the wall power using an adapter. The cable is included. The initial charge took over four hours to fully charge. It comes with a remote so you can adjust on-off and brightness level without handling the unit. It is installed via plastic straps at the junction of the umbrella arms. A useful gadget if you are out after sunset.

Bought this light just over a year ago and use it pretty often. There are 4 lights that are out, I’ve charged it fully but those lights are still.Has anyone faced that same issue and if so what was done?

Works great. I’ve had mine up for two weeks on one charge. Plenty of light and has different levels if you need it brighter.

The photo on the ad is deceiving. This light is tiny! Like 7 inches wide. Very VERY dim, you have to charge it on the wall which means you have to take it off the umbrella every two days. The way it attaches is a series of cheap rubber hooks that rip very easily. The remote control works randomly. What a piece of garbage - so cheap. The photo on the ad looks like it would be a larger light, with nice warm light - NOT SO. BE HONEST FOR GOD'S SAKE!
