Is the 13" width an inside or outside measurement? Will an LP record fit in them?

The 13 inch measurement is an outside dimension. The inside measurement is 12 1/8 inch.

can the crate fit vinyl lps?

I just tried fitting several lps in the crate and they wont sit straight across. I measure the crate at 12 1/8 across inside and the lps at 12 5/16. The walls of the crate do bulge slightly changing the dimension slightly, but not enough to hold lps comfortably.

Can these be stacked sidewise, so they are open like cubbies?

they can but no attachment points.....stack them and use zip ties to keep them secure....that's what I've done

Will one of these hold 4, one, gallon jugs of water, milk, etc.?
