Works great for quick windshield sealing
I bought it because when I drive on mountain roads on weekends, a little bit of water always seeps through the edges of my windshield. Last time it rained and I parked in a trail parking lot, I applied this liquid silicone to the gaps, pressed it in, and when I came back to tidy up my gear, it didn't leak again. It's easy to apply and stays in place quite well. 🚙🛠️

Stopped my windshield leak during heavy rainstorms ☔
My daily driver had a tiny leak along the windshield trim, and rainwater dripped onto my dashboard every time it stormed. I didn’t want to pay a shop to reseal the whole glass, so I ordered this Permatex 81730 flowable silicone sealer. It flows really well and seeps into those narrow hidden gaps that regular thick caulk can’t reach. After cleaning the area and applying it, I waited for full cure. Several heavy rains later, no more dripping! It dries clear and blends nicely with the trim. The 1.5 oz tube is perfect for small leak repairs. Great DIY fix and saved me big money. Highly recommend for minor glass seam leaks!🚗

Tiny tube that mostly does the job
This was for a tiny leak along my apartment bedroom window, because my landlord is slow and I’m on a budget. The silicone flows into small gaps really well and stopped most of the draft. I did wish the tube were bigger for the price though. I used almost all of it sealing one window edge 😅

Good but oversold on capabilities
From the package: "Specially formulated wicking action silicone. Flows into hidden and hard-to-reach leaks around glass..." I did not find that it really wicked at all. To me, it is just a more runny RTV silicone sealant. Because is thinner, it will flow somewhat into nooks better than you can squeeze normal silicone sealant yourself. This, overall, seems to contribute to a better seal, so it might be the best product for the application, but it is not anywhere as great as the description might lead you to believe. Also, because it is runny, it is better used on small gaps and where the application is horizontal. If at an angle or vertical, it will tend to run out and drip. You might be better off with two light applications based on this. Based on its performance to claims, I'd give it a bit under 4 stars. One problem that this product (and most Permatex products) has is that it comes with a cut-off nozzle to apply the sealant. After you are done, there is no way to seal up the tube. Unfortunately, this makes it more of a one-time-use product and not so good if you want/need to do multiple applications because you still have a leak and/or the product leaked/ran out. I sealed the tip up extremely well with electrical tape, and it barely lasted overnight. (I had to cut some more of the tube off). Some other products (GE, I think) have a replaceable, screw cap over a pointed nozzle which would be much better. This probably knocks it down to 3 stars since it is not that cheap and not widely available. Finally, it claims to be odor-free. While it is vastly better than the pungent smell of acetic acid, it is not odor-free, but not really bad at all. Very-low odor would be more accurate, although smell is lesser important to me, I round back up to 4 stars. See my customer image of some landscape lights I was trying to seal from irrigation spray (which keeps corroding/ruining them). You can see that it flows better into crevices, but that it also has a tendency to run out. Hope you find my review useful.

Just what my leaky SUV needed
Just saw this stuff on a mom’s car group and grabbed it for my husband’s old SUV that kept dripping on the passenger side whenever it rained. I’m the one juggling school drop-offs so that leak was driving me nuts. We cleaned around the windshield, I squeezed a thin line of the sealer into the tiny gap, then waited a day before driving. Next morning it poured during preschool drop-off and the floor stayed dry. That alone made me so glad I tried it. It looks clear, doesn’t scream “repair” at all, and i tossed the tube in the garage for next time. If u have a little leak starting, this is handy to have.

Midnight fix for the tiny windshield leak in my old Honda
Mostly bought this on a 1 a.m. panic scroll after spotting a slow drip from the top of my 2008 Civic’s windshield during a storm. I clean the glass, run a thin bead along the suspect edge, then tilt the car slightly on the driveway so it flows into the gap. The tip gives decent control and it levels out on its own pretty nicely. Smells like normal silicone, so I crack the door and let it air out. Drove through two heavy rain days and my dash stayed dry, which made me very glad I grabbed this stuff 🌧️. For a cheap little tube, it saved me from a body shop visit this month 😄.

small tube that helped with a drafty front desk window
When rain started coming through the lower corner of our shop’s front window, I needed a quick fix between customers. I bought this tube because the narrow tip looked easier to control than a big caulk gun. I cleaned the glass and frame, then squeezed a thin line along the gap. It flowed into the seam without much fuss, and during the next rain I didn’t see water creeping onto the counter. The tube is small, so I had to work slowly and wipe extra silicone off my fingers. It’s not a polished repair, but it stopped that annoying drip for now.

Handy sealant for small windshield leaks
Husband and I run a small car detail shop, so I grabbed this to stop a slow drip on a customer’s windshield. It seals fine once it cures and stayed clear, which matters for glass. Tube feels tiny for the price though, and the nozzle could be narrower for tight corners. Still useful on the counter ⚒️

Works very well
Windscreen gasket/beading had come loose, poorly jnstalled and during high speed it would flap onto the roof and then if it rained I'd get drips from top of the windscreen into the car. 20 min to clean, and apply this and 2 days with no water contact. Solved the problem fully. Have driven 2000 km since, half of it in the rain and some of it in torrential rain on an expressway. Fixing it at a workshop was told they would have to unfit and refit the windscreen which depending on whether the glass broke during uninstallation would cost from 2000 to 10000. Has saved me 10000.
