d-c-fix346-0601 Decorative Self-Adhesive Film, Oak Sheffield Dark, 17" x 78" Roll , Brown

I recently purchased an inexpensive desk for my home office. When the desk arrived, I was satisfied with the quality but the look of the laminate veneer didn't quite match the photos. I decided to try wrapping my desktop with a vinyl wrap to improve the look.In the past I have purchased samples of 3M architectural vinyl wraps but they are extremely expensive -- $20 per square foot in some cases. I decided to look for an alternative and found this d-c-fix "design folie" self-adhesive contact film.The film looked and felt better in person than I would have expected. I had never done a wrap project like this before but with the help of a simple plastic / felt squeegee, an Exacto knife and some scissors I was able to get a great looking result.I needed 2 rolls for a 63”x24” desk and had some small pieces left over. I was off to a good start with the first roll but ended up using the squeegee on a crease making a sharp ridge in the vinyl. This ruined the first roll but the next two went on perfectly. My advice to anyone doing this would be to pre-measure the amount you need, cut a few inches extra and then slowly apply the film using a squeegee GENTLY along the way.Overall I bought 4 rolls, used two, wasted one and still have a full unopened roll plus some small pieces left over. The wasted roll was entirely my fault and not an issue with the product.The quality, ease of use, appearance and durability are all exceptional for the price. As an added bonus this film is made in Germany. I only wish I had more projects to wrap!

Not really liking the standard finish of my Mazd CX-5 dash and console, I decided to do a wood-effect wrap. I struck out with the first vinyl I tried - VViViD Dark Vintage Wood - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JFDJMS9. Although the description says "The most realistic vinyl film on the market", the reality was severely lacking. Just shiny fake wood look with little in the way of texture and obvious print color dots in the finish. So I sent that right back. Then I tried d-c-fix Sheffield Dark Oak and was MUCH happier - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B007YSLIAW. Much more realistic with better texture and far nicer print. You can see the texture in the top right of the shifter surround pic, where the roll is stretched out.I did the dash pieces and center console the 'right' way, pulling them all down to the individuals panels and wrapping each piece using heat around the edges and corners. But I really didn't want to go to the hassle of doing that with the doors, so I surface applied and tucked in the edges from the front. Looks OK and I hope it won't peel, but I can always redo those bits properly later, if it does fail.So, very happy with the outcome. Looks as good as many cars out there with real wood veneer that look like plastic (yes, I'm talking to you Alfa Romeo) so I couldn't ask for more :). Attached are a couple of photos:

It is the second wrap that I used in my car and I love it so much! Previous wrap that I had from a different brand would start bubbling during the hot days and it started to look horrible.The heat does not affect this wrap and there is no bubbling during the hot days. It looks like real wood and it feels like real wood due to the texture. I only wish there were more colors to chose from. Amazing product! Thanks

I bought this to cover some scratches on my ikea furniture. While not an exact match, this looks complementary to the furniture and actually makes it look fancier thanks to the texture applied on top of the paper. It's easy to measure and cut to size thanks to the grid on the back and has a forgiving adhesive that allows for some repositioning while applying.

When I ordered this I wasn't sure what to expect, i've gotten similar products before- but for some reason the had a bad habit of ripping if you pulled it wrong. Guess they weren't quality products- but this stuff? Totally worth the money. It sticks well, the film is thick enough and durable enough that it wont rip even when I am pulling on it. 10/10 would recommend.

The media could not be loaded. Could be stickier, even after degreased and sanded it had a hard time sticking. Will submit a before and after***UPDATE***Hopefully quality is the same as two years ago (or better) because this lasted forever!! Without peeling or anything , today is my move out day and I thought about update bf this review. It’s easy to come off as well if you’re wondering . BUY THIS!!
