HT8C-8 good for the price
I installed them in the ceiling (Surround Left &Right). They fill in good. There is a subtle difference in the sound that I can pick up. When mounting in ceiling keep in mind that the sound is directional. Moving the tweeter helps. Easy installation and good looking. Sound quality is great considering its not in a box. I knew that I wasn't going to get the best sound quality in the ceiling but I had no choice. Planning on getting two more for rear.

Great Sound, Great Price
I am not an audiophile, but I do appreciate the value of these speakers. I installed these in the ceiling of my family room, widely separated above the TV. With the speakers at fair distance from the primary viewing position I do notice some loss of sound(low-mid range?) when you are not close to beneath them. It would be ideal to have these aimed more directly at the listening position, but the pivoting tweeters seem to help some.I originally paired these with an old, cheap, but powerful, stereo receiver. They did not put out much bass until a good break in period. I have used them lightly for 6 weeks and am now getting good sound. I finally paired them with a new receiver Onkyo TX-NR515 which has less power but much cleaner sound. With the new receiver, I tried turning up the volume some and get great full range sound for any music and movie effects. Though, as mentioned before, it is best when the speakers are aimed directly at you. You don't necessarily need a separate sub with these. I tried a brief bass sampling and they appear to have some bass in the 33-35 Hz range but not much until you hit the rated 38Hz minimum. I plan to add a sub(probably a BIC since I am so happy with these) mainly so that I can increase the low frequency effects in movies without have to crank the general volume so high. I really don't think a sub is necessary for music unless you want excessive bass or very low frequencies.

Just Okay
The sound is very low that comes come from these in ceiling speakers. I had expected more based on the reviews on Amazon. Not bad , but I am sure there are better ones out there. As the out put is very low, only thing being since I am using the PL 89 Series for the rest of my home theater, i dont car for it even though the volume output is low.

Good Speakers
I use these speakers for in-wall sub-woofers. They give good resonance because they vibrate the drywall also. Be sure to put insulation behind them if you do this or the bass will be loud on the other side of the wall.I also used one for my center channel on a 5.1 setup. It is clearer than the Sony speaker I replaced. I have a 5.1 system in my living room with one of these in an angled ceiling over the TV, one in the wall out of sight for the sub and four 6 1/2" in wall speakers for the surrounds. It sounds great. Not audiophile quality but I don't have speakers sticking out all over my living room either. Most people can't tell the difference and they have to look for the speakers to see where the sound is coming from. My wife likes that.Update, I used these speakers in 2 more installations. The customer is very happy with the sound and his wife thanked me for getting rid of the ugly speaker boxes he used to have.

Decent surround speaker
They're a goid value, but I would opt for the 3-way as a better choice. Good bass, highs just not crisp enough for my taste. A good surround speaker tho.

Another fantastic Acoustech speaker...
Put four in the ceiling for Dolby Atmos. They match perfectly with my other Acoustech speakers. One of very few ceiling speakers that can handle more than a 50 watt load. Very well made with actually usable instructions by someone who took the time to write a thoughtful manual. The whole Acoustech speaker line is truly amazing-regardless of price. And I have owned some very expensive speakers in my day. I paid like $60 a piece for these here on Amazon-AMAZING! Two of them replaced two JBL ceiling speakers (that could supposedly handle 150 watts) I paid $500 each for that blew out the tweeters within 6 months. I know that won't happen with these since their the same tweeters I have in my other speakers that I've had for a couple years now. The grills aren't magnetic, but they pop on real easy with a couple taps. You can't go wrong with these...

Good speakers with a high WAF (wife acceptance factor)
Installation was simple. It uses a clamping system so soon as I made the cut-outs and pulled wire they were installed in minutes. I painted with ease with just a foam roller and standard ceiling paint so they hide very well.I think these speakers sound really good. Unfortunately, I can't really compare how they sound compared to other speakers since these were the only in-ceiling I have installed. Also, I didn't have a sound system before these. I can tell you they sound way, way better than the TV. I have a Panasonic VT-60 which has decent sound. I used them for a while in stereo and I thought voice was clear. The range was full but light on the low end. I more recently purchased a Definitive ProCenter 1000 center channel. I think the sound coming off that little box is more impressive but that should be expected out of a box vs something in-wall/ in-ceiling.

I really hate these speakers didnt live up to their name
I own a small Home Theater installation company in Memphis and have used BICs hundreds of other times and have never been disappointed in a BIC product till these. The highs and mids are great but the low end is horrible. They bottom out entirely too easy. I have since removed them from my customers ceiling and went back with a speaker that i knew would do the job. At this price point, check out Dayton Audio from PartsExpress. They also sell them here on amazon and ship from partsexpress. These speakers are garbage if you know what you're listening to,

I'm yet to install these but quality seems great especially with the price point of these
I'm yet to install these but quality seems great especially with the price point of these.Only thing that I did not come across when buying these was were the package specified 2 speakers. I ended up playing it safe and ordering to packages. One box DOES consist of 2 speakers for anyone who didn't happen to catch it.
