## Questions & Answers

**Q: how many volts does the led part of it take? and what resistors to use from a 3.3v source to make it work at max?**
A: The spec. sheet says 20ma at 1.2 volts typically.  I used it with a Arduino off a standard GPIO and used a 2.2Kohm resistor.  That should work in most situations.  Obviously it you don't get conduction on the other side you might lower that resistance but not to exceed 20ma.

**Q: Will this drive a 12 vdc coil on a relay that draws 150mA?  What's themax current it will drive?**
A: No.  The max collector current is only 50mA.
