Dog loves it!
Dog loved it. She's a strong chewer and it's holding up well so far. She has had it for about two hours total now and the original treat still has a bit left, so I like how long it's lasting. And, most importantly, it really holds her attention.

1yo English Mastiff and 7yo large Yorkie both love Large Size
Our EM is now at 115lbs, our yorkie 24. I have given up buying any "small" or "medium" sized toys since the yorkie normally will not touch anything the mastiff plays with. For some reason this Large Bento is a coveted toy. Y will pick it up and hide it in our son's room and come back like nothing has happened.I do not buy the disk refills since M will play with the toy without the disks in it, but I do occasionally put other small treats inside.Y cannot squeeze the Bento hard enough to get treats out, but we do have a small everlasting treat ball (green) for him. M normally steals that. It is small for her and we do also have the large green ball and she loves that too.I have decided that this Bento ball is so popular that I will have to get another, but haven't decided if I should get another large or if I should get one size down for our Yorkie (the hoarder!).Filling: I use Training Treats inside. I lift the nub and squish them in. Sometimes I add a larger piece of something such as a "dehydrated banana piece wrapped in chicken jerky." I don't know if it's b/c the size of these are large that I don't seem to have trouble with filling. It has a pleasant scent. Not sure if that is purposeful or not. Some notes on Everlasting Treat Products (IMO):The discs are costly and once they come out suck to put back in. And if you aren't looking, once they come out--they disappear very quickly into the happy puppy's stomach! The everlasting treat ball (BLUE LARGE) was expensive, but our Mastiff can squish, chew, toss, lick, roll, and happily play without me worrying that she's going to destroy it. It was worth the money, but the next one I get, I will purchase from Amazon. The Bento Ball (orange) is flat on one side and rounded on the other, so it bounces erradically (sp?) when thrown. It has a smaller width than the Large Blue ball (which can hold 2 disks). The green balls are also very chewy/squishy and our Mastiff loves both the small and large, but she seems to prefer the small unless the large has treats. The small is the size of a tennis ball. The large the size of a "large" tennis ball. (Those of you with big dogs will know what I mean).Everyone has a different experience with these toys, but this is mine. I now have 3 toys I can buy our girl that she can't immediately destroy: Her "Boomer Ball," her everlasting treat balls in Large, and multiple Kongs in Red and Black (she has no preference).I encourage any questions below.8/15/2011: After initially posting a 5star review for this product, I have taken it down 1star. Yesterday while putting treats into the ball, I noticed that some of the nubbies have been scraped or half scraped off of the ball. They are smaller than a grain of rice, however, I will now not be purchasing another of these items and will try a differently shaped item instead. Other than this, the product is still completely solid.2/21/12: Item still going strong. I haven't noticed many more of the nubbies coming off.7/1/13: Same as above. I have noticed she doesn't pull this one out to play as often as the green EvT balls. She still does play with it though.

Keeps my champion chewer pup busy!
My nearly 2-year-old goldendoodle is a champion chewer. He will chew up anything - shoes, gloves, a new roll of TP, pens, pencils, kids' toys, garden implements... you name it. He'll chew it. Giving him chew toys touted as "indestructible" simply don't last in our house -- obviously these aren't indestructible to all pups!. Those super hard plastic dog toys supposedly "flavored" with beef, chicken, etc. are a total waste of money for us -- he won't touch them. But the Starmark Everlasting Treat Bento Ball has proven to be the best thing yet that captures his attention. It's sort of a pain to insert the treat, but once it's in, my dog happily enjoys gnawing at it and will spend hours with it. Also, the Bento Ball doesn't roll straight, so he thinks it's fun to drop it and see where it goes. If there is a downside to this toy, it's that the refills are on the pricey side, but keeping our chewing champ busy with something safe is worth the expense. And, Starmark has you covered since it comes in a range of sizes as do the insertable flavored treats, so you'll want to be sure to pick the appropriate size toy and treat appropriate for your pooch. Our dog is about 60 pounds and the Large Bento Ball and large sized treats work perfectly for him.

Wrong item sent
The bento ball itself is great but the extra 16 treats that were sent as part of the purchase were the wrong kind. The picture used in the Amazon ad is the one shown in the left part of the picture I posted (dome shaped treats with a dog named Lacey in the picture), and what I received is shown in the right part of the picture (ridged treats with a dog named Bella in the picture). The problem with the Bella treats is that they are a bit smaller than the Lacey treats which means that they dont fit sugly into the bento ball. This in turn means that my little maltipoo gets them out of the bento ball in a few minutes. This defeats the whol purpose of the treat, and even worse this is a choking hazard for small dogs which makes the product unusable for me. FYI - I have never had this problem with the Lacey treats - they work great which is why I bought this product since this is what was shown in the picture.I sent a message to the vendor about this but have not heard anything back. Amazon offered to refund me half of the total purchase price if I sent back both the ball and the 7 of the 8 treat packages (I opened one only to discover this problem), which is also not great.

Bought it for entertainment and learning….
I saw this on Amazon shop and I decided to buy it because my dog is aggressive chewer and on top of that it will keep him entertained while I am working from home. There are different sizes I end up getting medium size ball which I decided to buy for my pitbull I could have gotten large size but it would be more easy and simply to get out. But treat is easy to be worked out I thought that it would keep him entertained/learn how to get it out by taking time on how to do it, it only lasted about 30mins for him eat treat out, now it do have a smell for dog like bacon but to me it’s normal smell. Material is durable, sturdy and longevity is A plus but to replace new treat into ball you would have to wet treat to be able to insert into it then it is easy pop in! I normally would wait until treat is dry maybe day after to give to my dog because when treat is still wet so easy to come back out and that is not learning or entertaining to me. But ball is still standing.
