Revoltech Godzilla Kaiyodo SciFi Super Poseable Action Figure-004 Baragon

I'll start this review off like my other Revoltech reviews: These are NOT meant for children play things. More for posing and sitting on a shelf or diorama.Baragon is pretty cool to say the least. While standing on his back legs, he is right at 4.5 inchs at the tip of his big ol' cute ears.Function: Unlike alot of the other Revoltech figures, Baragons ears and elbows are on a swivel joint instead of the normal clinking Revol-joint.He has two Revol-joints in his neck which allow him to look forward if posed on all fours, two for his wrists and shoulders, and three in his legs at the hip, knee, and ankle. And finally one joint at his tail that allows you to pose it for standing up or on all fours. The tail is also able to bend to a degree thanks to it being made from rubber and a metal wire inside. Mine doesn't bend that well, but I'm not upset over it.Details: Baragon 95% brown with yellow eyes and whitish teeth. The horn is really nice, being molded in a translucent yellow to give that glowing effect. He's back covered in ridges from the back of his neck to the end of his tail, and he has wart like bumps on his legs and head.Revoltech did such an amazing job at the detailing, he looks like he came straight out of the movies.Cons: Like all the other revoltech figures, the joints do tend to get in the way when you're trying to pose them. You can remove the joints and place them in a different direction, will take a little effort, but it works. The second con is: These are getting harder to get for under $30. Gigan is now over $120 and you can get the S.H. Monsterarts King Ghidorah for that price and it's 4 times bigger.If you're a fan of the Showa era, get this if you can. If not, you can pass and go for S.H. Monsterarts. They're bigger and move so much better.

I've been a fan of Kaiju films for as long as I can remember. So, when I saw this Baragon available for less than $30, I was very excited to get it, along with a 1957 Moguera for around the same price.The sculpt is very accurate to the movie. I was very impressed by the loyalty the figure shows to his movie counterpart. Its reddish-brown paint job is beautiful. His ears even fold forward and back like in the movie. Unfortunately here stateside, we don't see a lot of highly accurate movie-based toys. Usually, Godzilla figures sold in Toys "R" Us and KB Toys are made quickly an cheaply, resulting in lacking paint jobs and less-than-accurate models. It's refreshing to see an accurate movie model.The articulation of the model is fantastic. The ears, neck, mouth, and limbs all have a great amount of flexibility, allowing him to be repositioned to a wide range of stances. When posed on two legs, he can even stand freely without support from his tail or arms. If I really had any complaints I would say that you can see through the cavity in his chest when posing his arms. However, it is only noticeable from the sides and doesn't affect the overall impressiveness of the sculpt.Overall, he's an amazing figure that delivers a very satisfying entry in the line. Matsumura Shinobu did a wonderful job on capturing the essence of this iconic monster from the Godzilla series. Warning, though: It is NOT a toy made for aggressive playing. It is a model made for desktops, dioramas, or even stop-motion film making. Young kids should not be playing with it. Even though he's been very sturdy, I always take extra precautions to not break him.

A fantastic little figure of a Showa era Kaiju. He's fought Godzilla, Frankenstein and others. Yet he remains one of the big G's lesser known cohorts.The Revoltech figure is one of the finer specimens in their line. The articulation is fantastic. He looks both like a monster and a kneeling guy in a monster suit. While the figure is a little small it scales well with Bandai's SH Monsterarts 1964 Godzilla. (Baragon is a bit small for the 1995, 2000 and 2014) . High points are the amazing head and neck articulation. He has some wonderful accessories including some trees, a squashed Alpine Cottage from Frankenstein Conquors the World, and joy of joys a tiny model of the infamous puppet horse from that movie. Whoever made this set has a clear love of the classic Toho movies and it shows in the end result. This is a nicely affordable must have for classic Godzilla collectors.

Awesome figure! Paint was spectacularly done, The joints all hold their poses very well, and hes adequately posable. The only drawbacks are that you can pretty easily see some of the hinge joints like on a cheaper childs toy, and for me some of the joints in his legs were a bit toooo tight, to a point I was afraid id break him while posing him.But that being said, you also get some accessories, mainly a house and some trees and scenery for his display which was not expected and is basically unheard of at this price range so any small gripes I may hold against him I quickly forget when I realize this guy is sub 50$ !If you like Baragon this is basically your only choice, but even if it wasnt it would be hard to beat this for the price and whats included!

This is my first Revoltech figure. I usually collect S.H. Monsterarts, but since they hadn't made a Baragon yet I decided to leave my comfort zone. (Plus the affordable price of $24 also aided.) Baragon has a fantastic sculpt, he is rather poseable right down to his ears. Though he has interesting joints, they're not quite ball joints, but more like a ratcheting ball joint, it is limited in movement than what I'm used to, though I don't intend to get too gymnastic with him. His appearance does suffer from that Showa era goofiness, but it's easy to overlook, especially if you keep his mouth closed and ears downward. He has an interesting array of accessories, a house, a horse and two trees. He's a much smaller scaled monster than typical Godzilla figures, but if you're looking to make a Destroy all Monsters diorama like myself, then I highly recommend Baragon, because he fits perfectly with S.H. Monsterarts. I was so pleased with Baragon, I intend to buy more Revoltech figures on Amazon.

The media could not be loaded.  　怪獣好きである自分の理性を焼き切る様な素晴らしい出来です。本来ならもう少し頭を冷やしてからレビューすべきなのでしょうが。　ともかく日本の怪獣特有の過度に醜悪に為らない動物的で短足で西洋人が見たら可愛らしくさえも見える素晴らしいオリジナルのデザインを忠実に可動フィギュアにしてくれたのが嬉しいです。特に可動部のギミックが多い頭部(耳、口）が口内の作り込みも含めて素晴らしく、これにもし同時発売のブースカと同じく映画同様眼球可動のギミックが加われば最高だったのですが、目の塗装も充分素晴らしいです。　後、日本のキグルミ（ヌイグルミ）怪獣特有の膝を深く折り曲げて歩行する動きを再現可能な大玉のリボ球を利用した膝、足首は可動的に良く出来ています。ベンタブルの針金内蔵の尾も、根本にはリボ球を一つ埋める事により第一弾のエイリアンよりピンと尾を撥ね上げる事が出来て良いアイデアだと思います。　同時発売のブースカと比べて、飾るならブースカ、動かして遊ぶならバラゴンと共に甲乙付けがたい出来です。　第一弾に負けないこの二弾を見て、今後の特撮リボルテックへの期待がいやが上にも盛り上がります。　東宝特撮、怪獣好きな方には文句無しのお薦めです。

ゴジラ映画シリーズ外の海外合作作品でレアな地底怪獣バラゴン。造形は勿論四足でも直立でも地底怪獣バラゴンらしい姿、馬と山小屋のおまけ付きでもう遊び倒し捲るしかないです。

意外とファンの多いバラゴン。私もその一人です。耳の可動と、四足歩行、二足歩行ができるのは嬉しい。ひじの関節がリボ球ではなく、簡単なヒンジ可動なのは、良いのか悪いのかちょっと分かりません。リボ球だとまた違った可動ができたかもしれませんが、やはり動かすのに癖が出てきます。尻尾の可動は素晴らしい！そして、顔がほんとバラゴンそのもの。今のところ、最高のバラゴンフィギュアです。お好きなら、ぜひ☆

海洋堂から昭和特撮キャラのリアルフィギュアがリリースです。これは「フランケンシュタイン対地底怪獣」に登場したバラゴンですね。バラゴンは、ゴジラの脇キャラなんですが、その怪獣らしい容姿で人気の高い怪獣ですね。今回の造形も実にリアルです。顔の一本角が実にカッコイイ！！おもしろいのは、バラゴンが登場するシーンの樹木や山小屋のおまけが付属していることです。正しくコレは買いですね！！今回のシリーズでは、エイリアン、大魔神、ブースカも発売されます。全部そろえても問題なし。メジャーな怪獣でないところも実にマニアックで素晴らしい。シリーズ化して、どんどんリリースされるのを期待していま〜す！！追記：実物が届いて、早速遊んでみましたが、１点残念なことが。バラゴンに食われる馬のフィギュアを芝ベースに差し込むのですが、力いっぱい差し込もうとして、馬のあしが折れてしまいました。皆さん、ご注意ください！！また、この馬は、山小屋の前に空いた穴にも、さしてポージング可能です。

今となっては難しいかもしれませんがこのクオリティでGMK版バラゴンも是非とも発売して欲しいものです。
