This cage by SmallRig is a great option, as it is built to a professional level, something you would build on as an investment for some time to come. The robust build can easily handle multiple add ons and take any treatment you can dish out. Loving this cage!

Undoubtedly one of the first accesories that I buy for my equipment and for that they've gained my appretiation. A few weeks ago arrived to our office a copy of their most recent accessory for all of those who are looking to record video in a professional or semi professional way and today I want to tell you my experience.Smallrig is known for offering parts for digital cameras in the professional realm to attach whatever you need or can imagine. From monitor supports, cages who protect the camera bodies and handles, recently they have translated their vast knowledge to the mobile realm of GoPro, DJI Osmo Pocket and now smartphones.The Smallrig CPU2391 Universal Smartphone video rig is an additional protection for your smartphone while using it on the field or in a studio setup. An integral supported that protects and secures your phone and allows to mount and growth its capacities by using their cold shoe adapters or its 1/4 20" threads. You can mount lights, wireless receivers, additional monitors, audio mixers, etc; the limit is your imagination. The idea behind this accessory is to make your rig as you need to and then remove your phone to use it for other activities. and once you're ready to record just place it again and it will be good to do. All you have to do is to place your phone, connect one cable and open your favorite video app. We love Filmic Pro and Mavis. And yeah, it's toddler proof.Do we recommend it? The media could not be loaded.  I purchased a very comprehensive rig: - SmallRig iPhone X/XS Cage (CPA2204, this product) - SmallRig Mobile Phone Head (BSP2380) - SmallRig Mobile Phone Extension Plate (APU2381) - Moment Anamorphic Lens - Moment Wide Angle LensThe video I attached here shows how these all fit together.iPhone X/XS Cage:Very good looking and high tolerance cage. I own a lot of SmallRig products, and this one, like those, is manufactured perfectly, right down to the tolerances and overall quality of machining and black anodizing. I love using these products, and this one does not disappoint! All ports and buttons are easy to access, thanks to a perfect layout. The way the button slides to release the top side of the case is perfect. It is easier and faster to remove this cage than it is to remove the Apple Silicone Case (which is also easy). The spider pattern is more beautiful in person than in pictures. The best part about this cage is the perfection of the interface with the Mobile Phone Head. You really need to get this accessory to make full use of the cage. The feel of the head attaching to the cage is like a super high tech perfect tolerance lock, seriously, like in the sci-fi movies! Once these are paired, the mount is ROCK SOLID. I put this on my Manfrotto tripod, and it is just incredible. No other iPhone holder that I own (I have about 5 of them) even comes close.A huge stand-out feature with the SmallRig iPhone X/XS cage is the ability to add Moment lenses to the cage. I purchased Moment Anamorphic and Moment Wide-angle lenses. The video quality is excellent. Prior to trying this, I figured that a lens in front of the iPhone lens glass would give the images unwanted artefacts, yet this was not the case.**********Important tip regarding mounting moment lenses:To mount the lens to the SmallRig cage:1) remove the carbon fiber insert from the cage;2) affix the lens to the carbon fibre insert;3) screw the [lens+carbon fibre insert] assembly onto cage.**********Accessories:SmallRig Tripod Mount Head:The phone head is described above. Perfection. It rotates to where you need it, with enough smooth friction that it's easy to align to where you want the camera to point, but it will not move once you place it where you want. Amazingly useful, and as stated above, the rock solid high tech mount is outstanding! The head also locks into place with perfect futuristic-like tolerances. Amazing! The head moves along pitch & yaw axes, so it can be placed on a simple light stand, with full functionality (see pictures). The rosewood backing with SmallRig engraved gives a very premium look and feel to the unit. Finally, the movement of the head up and down, and rotating about its vertical axis, feels just like a fluid head, where there is resistance, but it is smooth, and ensures that the head stays in place once you rotate it to where you want it, even if you were to put it on a long selfie stick. What you get is remarkable for the price!Smartphone Extension Plate Tripod Mount Adapter:The Mobile Extension plate is great for adding accessories to the rig. The plate has rosewood inlays on both sides. It unfolds into a long c.12" plate, on which there are 6 1/4"-20 threaded holes, and two cold shoe mounts, one at either end of the plate. The surface of the plate has rubber inset, which protects the accessories you attach to the plate. I need to mention that the rubber does not seem like stuck-on rubber as an afterthought. It is perfectly inset into the aluminum backing, and seems like it is all one piece of rubberized metal. I'm not sure how they do it so perfectly, but they definitely did. I really liked the way that the plate remains extended once you screw on the tripod head, so you cannot make a mistake and accidentally collapse it when you're working with it. The plate has a 1/4"-20 screw hole in the bottom, so that it can be affixed to any standard tripod. It is solid, and it looks amazing, right down to the engraved "SmallRig" in the rosewood. It is truly beautiful, both to look at and to use. Again, it is incredible what you get from SmallRig, for the money you pay.To get an idea of how useful this is, see the last two attached photos.Conclusion:With these reviews, I try to find something I don't like, just to make sure I'm giving as comprehensive a review as I possibly can. However, in this case, I have nothing negative to say whatsoever. I am just really happy. I'm even happy with the price, given the high quality of this product. I guess the only caveat is that you will have to buy a new cage each time you buy a new model phone. However, notice that the price of this cage is only $10 more than the price of an Apple Silicone soft case. The difference is value is crazy! Anyway, that's it for this review.

Äußerst robust gestaltetes Rig.Das Rig kommt bei mir in Verbindung mit dem Google Pixel 3 XL zum Einsatz.Dieses passt noch gut in das Rick. Deutlich größere Telefone würden zwar auch noch passen, allerdings lassen sich dann hier die beiden Handgriffe nicht mehr umgreifen.Das Rig hat zwei Schlittschuhaufnahmen, hier können zum Beispiel Lampen und Mikrofone angebracht werden.Des weiteren besitzt das Rig viele Stativgewinde. Hier kann weiteres Equipment angebracht werden oder man kann es auf einem Stativ befestigen.Die Klemme für das Smartphone hält das Telefon Bomben fest. Selbst mit einer Schutzhülle kann das Smartphone noch gut in das Rig eingebracht werden.Das Rig ist eine sehr gute Alternative zum Filmen und Fotografieren mit dem Smartphone.Die Aufnahmen werden hier deutlich stabiler und das Arbeiten ist wesentlich komfortabler.
