I'm a woman who's nearly 70 years old and my hair is like salt and pepper grey. I don't mind grey hair, but the sides were getting so light that it looked like I was starting to go bald, even though I have plenty of hair. Thank you John Frieda! I have the most glorious, beautiful hair - people honestly stop me and want to know who my hairdresser is and what I do. A year ago, I was hopeless; my hair was thining, no matter what color my hairdresser used it went brassy in days, it was breaking off, dull, stuborn grays that didn't take color. I didn't know what to do. I've always had long hair, I'm 50 now so I was thinking it was time to just cut it all off... I think this product does help. I just recently went from platinum blonde to chocolate brown. After 3-4 washes it faded a lot so I bought this and the John Frieda Midnight brunette shampoo. The color seeping treatment did help overall. However, if you just changed your hair from blonde it will only darken so much. Just a little honestly but I do see a difference. My roots that were dyed look great though! I feel once I go in for my second touch up and use this product it will definitely maintain the brown in my hair. It’s does have a male’s cologne smell. I mean I like the smell of males cologne but the smell is strong like the reviews mentioned. Once I used L’Oréal Natures therapy mega moisture nurturing crème as my conditioner it did take awhile the string scent. I left both prices on together for 10 mins. Hoped it would’ve down more on the old platinum hair but other than that good product. I did like that it brought out some of the red that’s in chocolate brown hair. Love that! But if you don’t like that than I wouldn’t use it. Ive read reviews complain and some love it. I’d buy again.
