Legacy, Vol. 1

I have been a HUGE CT fan from the day I discovered them, several years ago, even through the many cast changes and opt-outs. I was very disappointed on LEGACY however. The thing has no teeth, none of CT's sensitivity and playfulness, and it has current members singing songs that are indelibly linked to a specific, past cast member. For instance, largely because his beautiful voice was distinct in tone, range , accent, some songs are George's, and always will be. They just don't work with anyone else. Same with some of the others. At any rate, it lacks "teeth", that certain distinctive CT "something" that just isn't there. And as far as CT goes, don't EVER let me hear "Amazing Grace" again without George. Mortal or angel....that one is HIS. I was so disappointed in the CD, I haven't had the heart to open and watch the DVD. I will stick by them, but I gotta tell ya, babe....this Legacy just doesn't have that CT edge.

I love Celtic Thunder and saw the show on PBS, so I knew what the songs on this one were like. This group has really gone back to its Irish roots for this album. Of course I miss Paul Byrom, from the original group, and it is so sad to have lost George to a heart attack last year, but Damien returned for this show so that was a nice surprise. All of the individual artists are amazing alone and together. It is impossible to chose a favorite song, as they are all wonderful.

Legacy is wonderful!!! It was nice to hear the old songs with the new voices. It was bittersweet not to hear George's voice but we knew it had to happen. I look forward to getting Legacy, Vol. 2. And hopefully, a brand new show next year.

Great music, enjoy Celtic Thunder though I do miss George and his deep Irish voice. Liked some if the original recordings better than the newest cuts.

most of the songs on here is also on the other cd's. but I love it any way.. Have many many cd's of them. A lot of the singers have gone out on their own.....George died. Mcginty is all grown up. music is very enjoyable anyway.

Mostly a remake of songs sung earlier and some with different artists. I enjoyed it but like the original 5 best. As the group changes and becomes more polished, I feel some of the original soul and feelings are being lost.

I have listened to the audio CD. Have not, as yet, watched the DVD. Saw the show on PBS and just had to have it in my collection. The group is wonderful. Many members maturing, leaving and returning, and so on. Voices are just getting better through the years. You won't regret getting this in whatever form you choose.

Took a long time to get here but I love it!!! It has really made my day and will for many days to come. I know I will have to order more!!

This is the 3rd CD of theirs that I have bought and love the music okay the Christmas one is always playing but that was bought for the 1915 song and still like hearing it so it does not bother us.
