100% Pure All Natural Pork Lard 1 lb. (16 oz.) one pound

Great product without BHT BHA preservatives. Much healthier choice frying or baking than the solid vegetable oil based products. Very little smell and has no after taste. My only gripe is the cost of shipping. It almost doubles the cost of the product which is shame.

I live in the rural south and I learned how to make biscuits and pastry dough with lard that was made with the pigs we raised on our farm. When I became an adult and left home, there was a particular brand that was available in local grocery stores that had that soft texture and sort of savory flavor. I bought it for years. But suddenly the two grocery chains in our area no longer carried the brand I liked and it was replaced with a brand that wasn't much different than shortening. It was processed to death, very white and stiff and had no flavor. I searched high and low for a new lard to make my biscuits with no luck. I finally found this and was so relieved. It has a slightly savory flavor and makes my biscuits fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Worth every penny and I will be reordering!

A little expensive but I think this could pass for Leaf Lard. Very white and no oder at all.

I am very pleased with this product. The lard was without impurities, stored and cooked well. I will continue to use it to replace unhealthy seed oils.

Good product but they need a better way to ship during warm months with dry ice or something. When I received it it was completely melted and because the seal is not the best it leaked a little inside the box it was in. It was a greasy mess when I first received.

If you've been looking for a pure, clean-flavored lard that retains the characteristics of a quality lard, but is not as expensive as pure leaf lard, this could be it. We have been looking for a better quality lard than Armour. Armour lard is hydrogenated, which we don't like. Plus, Armour lard has a bit of "porky" smell, which we don't like, either.

My husband is so happy he found this product, he just put it on the piece of bread and put some paprika on the top! He loves it! Highly recommend!
