I bought the Tonies Minions Audio Play Character from Despicable Me for my grandbabies, and they absolutely love it! The Minions bring so much fun and excitement to the story, keeping them entertained for hours. It’s a great way for them to enjoy storytelling in a new, interactive way.The character is easy to use—just pop it on the Toniebox, and the story starts right away. The sound quality is fantastic, and the Minions’ antics always get them laughing. It’s become a favorite for playtime and bedtime.If you have little ones who love the Minions or Despicable Me, this audio play character is a great addition to their collection! Great tonie!!
Did not think we would like this because minions are usually annoying, but it’s actually the story of despicable me. The voice is very soothing and the story is very interesting! Great older kiddos and super cute!

The narrator would have been better off not attempting any accents.
My son, who listens to every tonie he has (that he likes) in its entirety, would only listen to this one for a couple minutes at a time for the first while he had it. The narrator tries too hard sounding like Gru and other characters and it is not even close. I understand this would be a hard read for a lot of narrators given the different accents, voices, and languages used in the movie but for a company as big as the Tonie box is, I definitely feel they could have done this a lot better. Almost feels like they went “cheap” and just didn’t care if it was close or not. My son did eventually start listening to the whole thing, I’m assuming after he got used to the voice of the narrator but he is still asking me if I can find another one “that sounds real” he says, he assumes it is like every other toy that has thousands of options from different manufacturers for the same toy and doesn’t realize the Tonie box is like apple almost in the fact you only have one option for purchasing which is from the company themselves.
