Snow's Wild Caught Chopped Clams, 6.5 oz (Pack of 6)

Really wasn't expecting this to be this good. The can looks like nothing, it looks like some boring nonsense, and it was so cheap I didn't realize it was 3 pounds. I'm shocked at how good it was for the price, don't get me wrong this isn't high quality tinned clams... But it's also about 10x the amount for the same price and there's 0 sand in these. These aren't going to replace your tinned clams that you eat straight out of the can, but these are perfect for pasta, clam chowder, etc. I will be buying these again, I wish they had a bit more flavor but for the cost there's no beating this.

This is a fantastic can of clams to make clam chowder. No need to buy extra clam juice. Just don't throw out the juice and use it instead! Do you get 51 oz of clams? Of course not! It's a lot more juice than clams but the juice is what you need for your clam chowder. I followed the America's Test Kitchen recipe on YouTube where they made Woodman's Style clam chowder. Definitely try that recipe - it starts with a cold soak and you reserve some of the clam meat to add after the cook to be sure your clams aren't tough. Everybody loved the clam chowder, it was really, really good. I did have to thicken the soup up more to my liking but they used instant mashed potato flakes and I just used more of that. The taste is phenomenal in clam chowder. Don't buy this to use for the clams though because you get way more liquid than clams. For clam chowder you get a soup that is loaded with clams (compared to a restaurant) though.

Snow's is a trustworthy brand and these clams are decent quality, flavorful, well priced and you get more than enough for a large pot of chowder in a single can. I've successfully frozen half a can (transferred to a freezer bag) when I haven't wanted to use a full can, and that's a big plus. The large size can keeps the per-ounce cost well below the clams that are regularly available in the stores, so that's another big plus. This is a kitchen staple for me, and I won't be buying the smaller, more expensive and less flavorful cans any more. This is my new favorite.

Half the price of the grocery store. Same quality. They can be frozen if you don’t use the entire 11 ounce can. Haven’t used after freezing though.

These Snow Chopped Claims are delicious! I use them when I make clam sauce. Very soft and moist. You get a lot of clams for the value.

Great product. The clams are chopped not minced so are great for chowder or spaghetti with clam sauce. The reason I purchased these are because the clams are caught in the north Atlantic and processed in the east coast of the States not in China or Indonesia.

If you enjoy New England clam chowder this is the perfect addition to fill out the normally light inclusion of real clams. Snow's is a great brand and oddly Amazon is only place I could find it. NOBODY sells this type of clam in cans anywhere in the stores available to shop in here at home in UK!

Love it. I use it when I make linguine with clams. Clean, and chopped up into perfect size bits. They could put more clam bits in each can, however. But overall it’s great.

Tastes wonderful, great quality. Makes good quick lunches on the go and I'm getting the iron I desperately need.
