No its just for craft work they are imitation leaf , you need to purchase edible gold leaf

No they are very thin so thin they lift off just with a slight puff of air to delicate to put anything on it

How do I stick it down to wood and will it be smooth or crumpled rough gold?

There is a special glue called gold leaf sizing. You brush the glue on, let it dry ( it will become clear in colour and still be tacky) place the gold leaf down as a whole sheet for smooth or crumpled for rough. Brush off excess with a soft paint brush.

Will these adhere to fabric such as canvas?

I'm sorry, I really don't know for sure but I imagine you could put them on fabric with the appropriate glue but it is very unlikely that they would last as they are extremely fragile and will even disintegrate in you fingers if not handled gently. I hope this helps.
