Josh's Frogs False Bottom - LECA Expanded Clay Pebbles (5 Quarts)

I have 2 18x18x24 bioactive, tropical vivariums for crested geckos. I used these for the drainage layer and they work well and are much lighter in weight than the lava rock I initially planned to use. Bioactive vivariums are heavy in and of themselves so being able to use these to lighten the weight was great. The packaging was secure, the expanded clay balls (leca) were fully formed and needed only minimal rinsing to get rid of the "dust." One 5-quart bag per vivarium was exactly the right amount. I've been using them for a short time but they appear to work very well so far.

Edited with update after two days:You can see how happy the plants are! Added 3rd picture. The one in the corner has stood straight up and looks brighter! All of them have taken to their new home just fine!I'll be leaving this review on all the products I bought.Above and beyond happy. Bought the plants with the 10 qt substrate and the false bottom layer.Amazing quality on the substrate. You could see it before I even pulled it out of the box how good it was going to be!Plants are beautiful. One plant had a tiny brown on an inside of one leaf. Nothing a few days help won't fix! They smell great! And we're packaged very nicely. There was barely any soil that spilled inside their packages.This is for my 6 month old gecko who finally gets his big boy home.I have. 4 year old that I went with a live plant set up about two years ago through Petsmart and a local nursery.Between the false bottom, substrate and searching forever through a nursery for 4 different plants.I literally spent half the amount of money with you guys!! And I worked for Petsmart at the time so the includes the employee discount.I almost want another reptile so I can buy more from you!So glad I found you guys!And it's not like I had to wait. It took technically just over a day for the layers. Plants were suppose to be about 10 days. They came two days early!Thanks again! Word will be speed for sure!

These are perfect and delivery was quick!My first time creating a terrarium.First bag, I tried zoo meds hydro balls and they were a lot smaller than I thought, wasn't enough for the areas I needed and alot of dust. Had to rinse them out like 6 or 7 times.You can see the size difference in the picture. Hydroballs are on the bottom.These, alot bigger, barely any dust, only rinsed like 2 times.Highly recommend!!

For setting up a bioactive tank, this works perfectly as a drainage layer. I had initially forgotten to add one when I first set up my bioactive tank, and ordered this when I had realized my mistake. It handles the drainage from the substrate layers well and helps maintain the humidity in the tank. I would definitely recommend this product.

One bag worked well for my leap terrarium that is 60 gallons. Probably actually could have gone with 2 but we don’t have a fountain feature so it works. Paired this with their substrate and I’m very happy so far.

This product works great and easy to use. No mess or excessive dust when opening the bag. A lot of people recommended two bags for a 18x18x24 enclosure so I bought two, but only ended up using about 3/4 of one that’s because my enclosure isn’t a vivarium but a paludarium and I didn’t account for the space I would be using for the water feature. Overall recommend for bioactive enclosures.
