It’s a wooden incense holder alright.

I mean. It holds incense what more do you want?

I bought this to use with Shoyeido incense. Their incense doesn't have a wood core so the tip is a tiny bit thicker than most incense but it burns so much cleaner and clearer a scent. It takes effort to find a holder that will fit this brand of incense but this one does well. It's light weight but FEELS sturdy and well made and I've gone through most of a box of plum blossom with this. I also bought an electric lighter with it. THOSE are amazing too.Anyways, these will fit most kinds of incense, folds shut for when you want to put it away and doesn't take up a ton of room on a desktop or table.Drawbacks would be that it does not weigh much so please do not put it near a fan!SHOYEIDO

It does the job. The incenses I have are too large so I have to snap off the stem end so they fit - no big deal.

Love it. Catches all the ashes and looks like it can fit any stick size

Essential for all incense burners.Only downside is that if you don’t position the incense correctly before you clamp it down… as it’s burning the ashes will fall outside of the holder. So that sucks and makes a big mess.

This functions well enough for the price, but I do have a couple frustrations. The hole to stick the incense stick in is cut all the way through, so if your stick is too small, it slides right through. It also could be slightly wider to account for sticks that aren't perfectly straight. I'm always cleaning ashes off of the surface where I burn. Overall, it does the job but could be improved.

These bamboo incense holders are lovely and are designed with a built-in, moveable, pivoting block so that users can position and incense sticks so that most of the burnt ashes land in the indented portion of the incense holder. Some of the ashes fell on our tile bathroom counter, but I’m not sure I had the block holding the incense stick positioned at an optimum angle for ash catching. Still these are so lovely and so well crafted. I think it’s only a matter of me experimenting with positioning of the incense stick.
