This band has been featuring rock and metal that stands the test of time and gives you a more 70's and 80's sound that will never die! David Coverdale is possibly the best male vocalist in rock or metal history and you will hear that from a lot of the experts. Other honorable mentions are Ozzy Osbourne and many others. This band is for people who cannot stand the Seattle grunge sound and realize that rock and metal peaked in the 80's. Massive vocals, guitar riffs and solos galore, and a band who has multiple all time hits like Here I Go Again and Is This Love above their mantles. Songs included in this album are Best Years, Call On Me, Good To Be Bad, All for Love, Summer Rain, Lay Down Your Love, Got What You Need, and a few more. If you like a cross between Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, and the Scorpions with David Coverdale's awesome voice, THIS IS IT. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great album; great band *by C***Z on May 31, 2008* After many years, Whitesnake releases a GREAT album. It could have been done 15 years ago, or 25.David Coverdale has this distinguished, unique voice; he does not SING, he acts through his voice. Mr. Coverdale gets older and better each year: although not so "powerfull" in low pitches as in Purple's Burn, he learned a lot all over these years. As a result, he can "play" between low and high pitches easily, which makes the album a complete piece of Hard Rock, R&B and Rock and Roll, played by talented and passionate musicians.The band is amazing: one can hear all the instruments together, as much as concentrate in each one at a time - it's all clear, but strong.Great musicians - as Mr.Coverdale always gets surrounded by - and the best voice that rock and roll has ever seen. All in great shape.A real "must-have". ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Whitesnake returns to form! And a great Live disc in the package too! *by B***R on May 1, 2008* "Good To Be Bad" is one of the better albums in this style that I've heard in a while. I'm not sure what the style is called anymore, when I was a teen (20-years ago), we called it Heavy Metal, but that term seems to be reserved for even harder, heavier music now.I've owned quite a few Whitesnake albums in the day. I first got into them during the "Slide It In" and "1987/self-titled" era. But I also went back and bought the earlier albums which were lighter and bluesier. I continued with Whitesnake as far as the "Slip Of The Tongue" album which really let me down, so I gave up on them.I've seen this album get some good press so I decided to check it out. And the good press is true in general. This may not be the best Whitesnake album ever, but it is a quality album that ranks among their top three or four, which is an accomplishment when you consider that Whitesnake has at least eleven other albums that I'm aware of (but I could have missed one or two while I was away).Stylistically, this album is probably closest to "1987/self-titled". But there are nods to the earlier, more bluesy sounding Whitesnake too. And also nods to David Coverdale's heritage with Deep Purple.And speaking of Deep Purple, this CD also comes with a second bonus disc of a live Whitesnake concert that is excellent, and contains live versions of some of Coverdale's Deep Purple-era songs, and some of the early Whitesnake classics. It's an excellent single live disc. And when you consider that you get the new album plus the great live disc for $9.97 (basically $5.00 per disc) you realize that this album is really a great bargain.Also if you like this one, you should consider getting Def Leppard's new one "Songs From The Sparkle Lounge", and Tesla's two new ones "Real to Reel 1" and "Real to Reel 2".
