Farberware Thermo Probe

I was searching for a while on that Auction Site for the model #100 and all that was available were old used controls that were 3-4 times the price of this control and you had no idea how much longer life they had. When I stumbled on these I was elated. A brand new control that would fit my Farberware pan. At the time I ordered, I was actually headed from my New York home to my Florida home for vacation, so I had it shipped there. I also have a Farberware pan in my Florida home that was handed down to me from my Aunt Josie. That pan uses model #101 control, and I remembered that that control was on the way out as well. When this arrived, I figured I would try to see if it fit and sure enough it fit for the model #101 I had been using. I threw the old one out and quickly reordered another for my New York pan. When the second one arrived at my New York home I tried it and it works, but is extremely tight to put in. I did remember that a reviewer stated that after frequent uses, the control goes in more smoothly, and that is indeed the case. A GREAT REPLACEMENT FOR BOTH MY PANS!!!

The item is described as a Farberware product but is clearly an aftermarket replacement not manufactured/supplied by Farberware. There is no safety agency (UL, CSA, etc.) approval on the device. It was very difficult to insert into our Farberware B3000 skillet. The AC socket receptacles' spacing or diameter appears to be slightly different than the skillet pins that are supposed to go into them. We have not used it so I cannot comment on its performance.Update December 29, 2014 - We have used this with our B3000 skillet for 3+ years and it has worked without a problem. The heater's fit into the skillet has loosened up and is now tight but not difficult to insert; I guess it needed a "break-in" period. I have raised my rating to 4 stars.

Ordered this unit for a 40-year-old Farberware 310A. The "probe" part is too long (longer than the original)and the tip is not shaped exactly the same -- so the fit is *really* tight. No, I mean it, *really* tight. I will not be removing it for storage as I had in the past. But it works just fine.Double check the shape and dimensions of the part that inserts into the skillet because there are similar, but not interchangeable, units available, Make sure you order the right one.My mother-in-law loves this old skillet and now it has been upgraded to be electrically safe so she can keep using it. And the price is right, about $15.It took kind of a long time to get it (maybe two weeks). I live just east of the Rockies.

Were told that the piece CO-PRF3 Probe Control Replacement for our electric griddle would fit the model #100 that we had. When it arrived, it was so far off it was ridiculous.The return process was and is not easy with the company we had to deal with Factory Services. We have to pay to ship it back. They sent the part advertised to fit our electric griddle. This can be costly at times.I will now be very careful who I purchase from, through Amazon. Amazon is a great place to find and purchase things, just make sure you know where they are coming from.First time we have had a problem. Hope it is the last.Thank you for letting us make this review, it helps with our frustration at what was advertised and what happened!

We have 3 of the Farberware Pans and only one working control. We needed another one and this replacement seems to do the job. Initially it is little tight fit but after using it few times, it seems to work better. Important thing is that it works. We tested it boiling water in the pans and I think the thermal control needs slight adjustment/calibration. But otherwise it works well. It is definitely not as well made as the original Farberware control.

While my husband finally was able to squeeze it in...it really doesn't fit properly. The probe is too long. It seems to work but I'm skeptical about long term functionality. I also am worried about having to remove it to clean. I love my skillet but haven't used it since I got the new probe because I'm not comfortable with it. Disappointing.

just doesn't fit my appliance quite right. it'll work, but there's a definite safety iisue without it fitting properly.as far as the dealer and amazon, everything went as promised; no complaints.

Had to return it. Would not fit Farberware electric Skillet as the approved reviews on the unit said it would. Seller should scan & remove those misleading erroneous review. Seller must issue me credit $$$ now.
