I sent this as a gift to a friend who has taken bee courses/training and wants to pursue this field. He said he is learning and taking mental notes. The author flows with knowledge on the subject.

An interesting read about the life and times of bees. Helped me build a greater appreciation as I enjoy my honey and tea in the morning.

I heard the author interviewed on the radio and ordered the book right away. This isn't just another book on interesting information on the life of bees. This is information I have never heard before. It is from someone who is intimately involved with his own bee hives and the situations and questions that arise from a naturally inquisitive mind.The book is a fun read which produces a profound sense of wonder at how intricate and complex the bee colony has evolved. I found myself thinking I would really like to meet the author because of his knowledge and his sense of curiosity and awe. I think he is a natural philosopher.Anyone with an inquiring mind and an appreciation of the wonder of Nature would certainly enjoy this book.

I love trivia and there’s so much here to know, but told in a delightful way that I found easy to recall for sharing.

Jack wrapped the seriousness of Bee keeping in an education but entertaining envelope that was more than I knew or though to ask about. It brought me back to my bee keeping days 40 years ago. Great research work Jack!

I got my first hive back in the summer and I was looking for a book with all the facts I needed to know, this however, was not what I was looking for. Saying that, I read the whole thing in one sitting. It was informative and hilarious. Highly recommended

This book is great, full of information. It’s engaging and easy to read, my ten year old and I have been reading it together, learning and laughing at facts you’re not likely to find in other books on the same subject. Definitely recommend and pleased I have this in my own book collection.
