Southern France Map (National Geographic Adventure Map, 3314)

Perfect Detail for Traveling the South of France
We had been using the Michelin France #721 map (a similar folding road map) but needed more detail, so we ordered this Nat'l Geographic #3314. First, the quality is much better; it is a heavier, better-coated paper than the Michelin; second, the map is larger than the Michelin by at least 30%; and third, this map has smaller towns and sites of interest included. This map is clipped to a foam-core board as we plan and plot our vacation drive. We will have all our highlights marked to slip this folded map into our bag for our road trip from Nice to Montpellier, including all the stops in between.

quality map and useful to have a hard copy rather than rely on your iphone
I like old fashioned maps as they give you a longer (and wider) perspective of where you are. This is a quality map, updated and found to be very useful.

Very Complete and Well Made
Great for planning a trip to this area of France! Very thorough and the construction is great!

Way too detailed for anything but auto travel
Take a magnifying glass with you on the trip. The cell phone worked just fine for getting around. I left the map at the host home for someone else to use.

Very inclusive.
Seems to include every place no matter how small. Great! But now I have to buy a much, much more powerful magnifying glass! LOL!

Am a bit of a mapaholic so know a good map when I see one
Clear and detailed map. Am a bit of a mapaholic so know a good map when I see one. Recommend this - clear to read and colours not all muddled together - some topographists are probably a little colour blind - hence jumble of names, lines, etc.

A detailed, tear and moisture proof map that will survive constant opening and folding.
This is a great map for a bigger view of southern France than a phone, tablet or GPS can provide. There is considerable detail which can be very useful but when I want a simpler, less detailed view, I can use the Southern France 2014 National Map 725 (Michelin National Maps) which I also purchased on Amazon.I also use GPS in Europe either on a standalone GPS unit, phone or tablet but it is useful to have both a more detailed larger view and a less detailed larger view which is why I bought both maps.
