Wonderful Product for Use Before Bed
I've been using ClimbOn for the last few weeks, and I can wholeheartedly endorse its use for helping to mend and strengthen skin damaged skin.I'm a rock climber, and my hands are naturally very dry. Unfortunately, this means that my hands often crack and bleed if I don't properly maintain my skin before and after climbing. ClimbOn has served as a quick and easy way to maintain my skin without having to make a big deal out of the whole process. I slather on a bit of the balm before I go to sleep after a day on the wall, and I wake up with my skin feeling strong and supple. This product's main caveat is that the balm is very thick, and it doesn't absorb very quickly into your skin. This means that if you put it on right after climbing, you're likely to grease up your phone and most anything else you touch for the next few hours. That said, if you put it on before bed, it has more than enough time to absorb.

Cleared my persistent exzema in days!
This stuff is amazing. I bought it to clear up exzema on my face that I’ve been unable to get rid of for a YEAR. I’ve seen three dermatologists and tried everything from prescription steroids to over-the-counter pharmacy stuff to expensive European moisturizers. NOTHING worked. The Derm was getting ready to biopsy my face for actinic keratosis. A friend told me about ClimbOn, I started using it, and my exzema cleared up in days! It’s a miracle balm!! Highly recommend!!

A great salve for climbers, but also for anyone who works with their hands.
Climb On! for Men smells great and does exactly what it says it will. It heals, protects, and moisturizes the skin without softening the hard-earned calluses I've been lovingly cultivating.Being a beeswax based product, the waxy residue of the stuff does tend to linger on the skin for a while. I'd say anywhere from 15-30 minutes depending on how thickly you apply it. However, I've only needed to use it 1-2 times daily (morning and evening) so it wasn't a big deal for me. Some people like to apply moisturizers all day though, and if you're one of those people, you'll probably not enjoy the lingering, greasy feel.As far as the smell goes, I personally really like it. It smells a little different on the hands than it does as a block in the tin. The cedarwood, frankincense, and myrrh start out warm, spicy, and a little musky but fade into something close to oranges and cloves. It's definitely got some value as aromatherapy, at least to my nose.It doesn't just work on hands. I've used it to soothe scrapes on my knees and elbows, and it works just fine as a lip balm too. Technically speaking, you could also eat it if you got lost out in the bush and needed some quick fat calories in a pinch, though I'd imagine it'd taste a bit funky what with all those essential oils. It'd also work fine as a beeswax candle if you had something to use as a wick. If you have some gold handy, it also doubles as a complete gift package to the Christ Child. In short, there's a good reason why Climb On! is the most common skin care product seen in the hands of climbers everywhere. It just plain works.

Hands seemed much dryer and rougher in the long run with this product ... ?
This stuff smells and feels great while you're using it. I have the green top version - I don't know if one really smells different than the others, but mine smells like most beeswax based moisturizers, which is to say, delicious and not gender specific IMHO.I'm not sure it helps healing cuts directly except by moisturizing and preventing further cracking - but if feels great! Your hands absolutely soak this stuff up! It's beeswax based, so you'll need to knead it in for a while.HOWEVER - I'm 99% sure that my hands end up being dryer and flakier with this product in the long run. When I started using this I thought it was amazing; then I started to notice my skin was MUCH rougher and dryer throughout the week ... and started to flake up more ... Not tooting my own horn here, but I have pretty nice skin on my hands and only need moisturizer occasionally - and mostly only immediately after climbing to pull back some moisture that the chalk and dust has removed. The changes to the texture of my skin after using this for a few weeks were weird and never something I've experienced - although I've never used a beeswax moisturizer on my hands before... The changes were reversed shortly after I stopped using the product. When I'm not climbing, which is 3 days a week, I don't really have moisture or roughness issues. I normally just use some Aveeno moisturizer occasionally (see question below), but saw a lot of people using and loving this and it's very packable for the gym. I was also on a climbing trip in Mexico and one of the climbers had this - at the end of everyday we were all begging to use it.Thought I'd give it a shot - not super happy with the long term result as described above.I have used other beeswax products like Burt's Beeswax Lip Balm and, while lips are vastly different from hands in terms of their reaction to moisturizers, I found the same problem - After regular use my lips *needed* that lip balm otherwise they became very dry. I'm not allergic to honey, or anything bee related - but, still, maybe my body just doesn't like beeswax ...Doesn't look like anyone else has this problem - so perhaps treat this review as an anomaly - but it is my experience and hopefully others find it helpful.**QUESTION** I also pursued this product because I wanted to replace the Aveeno that I use because I'd like to find something more natural without weird ingredients like Dimethicone and Distearyldimonim Chloride ... if people have suggestions that aren't beeswax based ... I'm all ears.

My go to product
I love this product and buy it regularly. I work at a climbing gym so besides my usual 3 days a week of climbing I’m putting my hands on some sort of hold most days. Climb on was a great addition to my skin care routine. I put it on right before going to bed and try not to touch anything to let it soak it. It’s also such a small product that its easy to pack into your bag for climbing trips. I do like climb skin but for the price point i think climb on is a way better product for everyday use.
