Great simple outdoor storage
Loved this shed so much we bought a second one. First one is used for outdoor storage of large trash and recycle bins. Second one now stores the kids’ mountain bikes (24”). 3 of the bikes fit perfectly in here as you can see in the picture. So far our original one has held up well in the Texas heat. My only complaint is in the cold weather the lid tends to not stay up as the compression hinges are weaker in the cold. These really should have a third complete hinge in the center for support instead of the simple bracket hinge. These also aren’t secure by any means unless you truly bolt the base to a concrete pad and anchor the side walls to the base. This wasn’t a concern for us but if you need a securely locked setup I would not suggest this unit.Speaking of concrete pad, these operate just fine without one.

High quality USA made product
Very happy with the look, the quality, the ease of assembly, and the functionality of this product to house our garbage and recycling bins. And we were glad to support an American business!

Excellent for my needs
Hardware was easy to figure out, but should be labeled. Once assembled, very good product.

AVOID!! Wrong hardware included. Horrible Customer Service.
Purchased this horizontal shed #BMS4700X - 70 cu ft horizontal shed - after reading extensive reviews. I was confident that this one was going to be a reasonable quality shed for my large garbage bins. Boy, was I wrong. The basic pieces of the resin shed seem ok - although the plastic latch at the bottom of the doors does not slide smoothly or fully lock into place no matter how much we try to correct that. But the bigger issue is the wrong hardware was sent by the manufacturer and Suncast - after multiple emails and phone calls - refuses to do anything about it. Their customer service was nightmarish and condescending.I’m hopeful that after several hours of additional work on my part - and after going to purchase my own hardware - that the shed will work out. It’s frankly not worth the time to disassemble it to send it back. But for over $400 I expect the correct hardware to be sent with the item and I certainly expect decent customer service and not the rude and condescending service I received - and frankly the simply wrong information Suncast disseminates is unacceptable as a consumer. I’m in the construction industry and I know what I’m talking about. The black metal hinges for the roof/lid that are included in the materials absolutely will NOT work with the included screws. Although the screws included by Suncast are indeed the right length and the right diameter the thread pattern is incorrect. This was confirmed by one of my contractors, and by the owner of the local hardware store when I brought the hinges to to see what the issue was. Suncast insisted in a voicemail - and an additional phone call with a very rude supervisor named Charlene - that they were the right screws. But the screws would absolutely not go through the holes. Suncast did not want to see my photos or the videos I took using both hand screwdrivers and power drivers that clearly demonstrate the problem. No amount of actual evidence would convince their customer service that the wrong screws were sent. Many approaches were tried with the screws we received: We tried scraping the black paint from inside the holes on the hinges. We tried using hand screwdrivers. We tried using power screwdrivers. We tried lubricating the screws. Nothing worked. Suncast insisted that it’s simply a matter of using “lateral force”. I construct things all the time, and I know what lateral force is. No amount of lateral force was going to make those screws go through those hinges without re-drilling the holes in the steel, so it was simpler to replace the screws with the correct thread pattern. On one of our attempts with the power screwdriver the head of the screw was even stripped because we used so much of the suggested lateral force. We tried different levels of torque on the power driver and yet nothing worked. I’ve included photos of both screws trying to get them through the holes in the hinges. You can see that the screws are identical lengths and diameters, but have different thread patterns. The wider thread pattern on the left was the screw from Suncast, and absolutely would NOT go through these holes. The more compact thread pattern on the right are the screws that I bought from the hardware store. Those 12 screws cost me $12 - but more than that the incorrect hardware and information from Suncast caused me to lose several hours of time and added a huge amount of frustration to what should have been an easy 2 hour project. In my first attempts to contact Suncast I sent several emails. The first email I received back I was certain was sent by a robot because they had completely ignored information in my first email - such as the copy of my receipt and a description of the precise problem that I had already included. In their second email reply they insisted on asking for some of those items AGAIN despite insisting they were indeed human and not an automated reply. The Suncast supervisor I spoke to today, Charlene, told me that Suncast’s policy is not to reimburse customers for any costs even for incorrect hardware. I had attempted to get Suncast to correct it themselves by sending the correct hardware but when that failed I had to eventually make the purchase myself as the shed was partially constructed. It is not worth the time, wasted energy and the effort to deal with this company and their horrible customer service, poor product support and incorrect hardware. Go elsewhere.

Here's what I've learned from assembling this shed...
I rarely write product reviews but after seeing many of the reviews from others who had problems, I decided to write one anyway in hopes that it may help avoid some common problems. My -star overall rating is based on the following:It arrived in good condition, no damage, all the parts were there.1. The directions were accurate and easy to follow. I typically will have a sit down and read through assembly instructions at least once before I begin a project. If you follow the instructions in sequence you should be okay. I believe 2 hours is a reasonable estimate for a leisurely assembly time.2. It's super important to have a solid, flat and level base before beginning. The instructions provide specs for the base. I made mine out of pavers and base sand. You'll also want to anchor the floor of the shed to the base. If you don't have a solid and flat base, you'll have problems later with warping and the doors and lid not aligning.3. Remember that you're driving the screws into plastic resin and it's easy to over-torque and strip out the holes. I used a power screw driver to start the screws most of the way in then used a hand screw driver (Phillips #2) to finally tighten. Again, don't over tighten. Try a few screws in some random location just to get a feel for how hard to tighten them, and don't ask me for ft-lbs of torque :-|4. If you notice minor warping of the lid, as I did, once you attach the truss leg to the lid, it'll flatten right out.5. You'll need a friend to help with attaching the doors and lid. I was able to do it by myself but only because I'm somewhat narcissistic and don't have many friends.6. The only constructive feedback I have for Suncast I have are:a- The lid latch is made of plastic. Eventually this is going to break and not secure the lid when closed. Consider making this from metal. Please send me one when you make that change. :-)b- The holes for attaching the metal hinge bars to the lid are in fact too small for the screws. I had to drill them out to 7/32. Don't use a drill bit larger than that as the holes are rather close to the edge.I would buy this product again but I'd probably fashion my own lid latch out of metal.
