Works as intended and dead easy to get going
Got this installed for a nice and easy 4 Camera CCTV setup, with the aim of using some higher powered security lights as well, requring the extra wattage on certain ports. Used TP-Link Omada switches for a few years and find them a doddle to get integrated with out the box and no confguration needed. I have this installed in standalone mode and kept it as simple as possible, barely makes a noise. Yes there are cheaper switches out there with a similar feature set, but the integration with Omada down the line and ease of use makes this my choice.

What's not to like
I have rebuilt my entire network around the Omanda series and it has transformed my home network performance and stability. Excellent products at a great price

Great Network switch
I bought this network switch to power my UniFi6-LR Wi-Fi access points. They are PoE+ so normal PoE switches can not supply enough power for them. It was not straight forward on the TP-Link website if it is PoE or PoE+ but I risk it and ordered this switch. It was a good surprise it is PoE+ Class4 capable and perfectly compatible with my access points. Passive cooling so no fan or any noises. I’m using this switch 2 months ago now and it is perfect. I would not buy any more expensive switches as they are not capable any more than this. I can highly recommend this item.

I have standardised on these Omada switches and if using a controller, they are super easy to configure for your needs.

Good, but time-setting flaws
SG2210MP - Whilst this switch is like the other TP-Link JetStream switches a pretty decent product and for my money part of the best low-cost range of network infrastructure products, the internal time-setting function needs some work. If you choose to use an NTP server for updating the device's clock, you have to specify an IP address - you cannot use an address such as pool.ntp.org. This may be fine if you have an NTP server on your local network (although even then it is not ideal as it is not very flexible), but if you are wanting to use a public NTP server it is no good. Furthermore the DST function is not integrated with the time-setting function, which means that you can set it to be on if you fall back to setting the time by synchronising with the attached computer's clock. This time will be correct, so adding an hour for DST while the DST is effective means that you end up with the time being an hour ahead. It should only take effect when you are using an NTP server so this function should be subordinate to the time-setting function. Alternatively if you set the time manually you should make sure that you use the non-DST time for this. Despite the above the switch is a good product although I can't help but worry a bit that if this function is so badly implemented, what does it mean for the rest of the firmware?

The TP-Link TL-SG2428P Jetstream is an exceptional managed switch that provides a wide range of features and performance capabilities. I was impressed with the sturdy build quality of this switch, as well as its sleek design. One of the standout features of the TL-SG2428P is its power-over-ethernet (PoE) capability, which allows for easy installation and deployment of devices like IP cameras, access points, and VoIP phones. This feature is incredibly convenient and saved me a lot of time and hassle. Another impressive feature of the TL-SG2428P is its web-based user interface, which is intuitive and easy to navigate. I was able to quickly configure the switch to my specific needs, and the switch provided excellent performance throughout. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my purchase of the TP-Link TL-SG2428P Jetstream. The switch provides reliable and robust performance, as well as a wealth of features that make it an excellent choice for small to medium-sized businesses. Highly recommended!
