The 2020 Raptor USA baseball bat is ideal for up and coming youth players (ages 10 and under), looking to learn the game. The -12 weight drop enables an ultra light swing, allowing younger players to catch up to the pitch. Additionally, the durable, responsive alloy with extended sweet spot, creates optimal opportunity for contact. Not only will this bat exceed performance expectations, but the vibrant electric blue and lime green design will be the envy of every kid on the field.

It's a baseball bat
I bought this for my son to hit baseballs with. When my son swings the bat at a baseball and connects, the ball will go in the opposite direction, however, this is not always the case. There are time when the baseball makes contact with the bat and the baseball will actually go backwards and over my son's head. Though, it is important to note, I do not fault the bat for this behavior as I suspect this is a problem with the baseball. I did not purchase the baseball, so I cannot leave a review about that. Overall, the baseball bat performs like a baseball bat and my son is pleased.

Buying Confidence
Bought this for my 8 yr old in preparation for new rules this spring. He loves it. Based on price, I'd say it's not a "high performance" bat, but for an 8 yr old, we don't need high performance/high price. Length and weight are most important for his skill level. With the new USA Bat standards, I'm not sure how much the higher priced bats are going to be worth the $$ anyway. With the -10 length/weight ratio, he get's less bat sting from mis-hits and he likes the grip and graphics. At his level, I'm buying confidence at the plate as much as anything, so if he's excited about swinging it, that's all that really matters.

GARBAGE!
No need to say much here... its a disposable bat.My 10 year old used it 2 times and its bent already !By 2 times i mean; HIT A BALL TWICE literally, maybe it even bent on the 1st time and we didnt even notice. This should be illegal to sell this sort of garbage and rob someone of their hard earn money like this.

Good bat so far
Good bat so far, much easier to control than the 2 5/8" barrel bats because it's not so heavy at the end. My son hit his hardest line drive of the season with it last night. However, the strange sound (sounds wooden, no characteristic ping of a metal bat at all) makes me wonder if he has a deadened bat or something. Either way, he'll keep swinging hard and making contact.Update 7/16/18: My son played his entire All-Star season with this bat. He played up a level in kid pitch after playing spring ball in 8U machine pitch. He was making the most consistent contact of any kid on his team with this bat, and I attribute it to the skinny barrel. Some of the new bigger barreled USA bats might weight the same, or have the same drop weight, but the kids struggled hitting them. I'm sticking with this diameter for the foreseeable future, and I'll be buying this bat again next spring in a 1" longer size. Another thing, after breaking it in, it has a really nice ring to it now.

Maybe it came from a bad batch.
I returned this the same day I bought it. As soon as it arrived, by 7 year old wanted to try it out. So we take it to the park and it dented on the first hit. He's only 60 lbs...I doubt he has THAT much power. Maybe it came from a bad batch...maybe it's just poor quality. Either way, I went with an Easton in the end.

Great bat for the price!
We were put in a tough spot with the adoption of the new USA bat standard for little league. Could not even bring the old bat to practice! Trying to find the right bat for our 7 year old grandson at a reasonable price (given that by next year he’ll need the next size up) was tough. After reading reviews of some bats getting dented from hitting pitched balls made the decision even harder. After swinging a number of bats at different lengths and weights we choose the Raptor as the best fit in our price range. We’re almost done with Fall Ball and the grandson has gotten a number of hits, others have borrowed it, and other being a bit dirty it’s in perfect condition!

Decent bat for price...
My son had to change his bat size and almost everywhere was sold out of his size. We’ve had a few other Rawlings and they aren’t bad. Not the quality material you will get with a more expensive brand but it works well for him. I noticed within a week of having it, it has shown A LOT of wear compared to other Rawlings we’ve had. The handle is completely scuffed up after one practice where he batted only a handful of times. Normally we get longer out of it before we see so many marks on it.

Good bat but Illegal by IESA rules (all 2-1/4" bats)
BEWARE this bat is illegal for any leagues in Illinois following the IESA Bat Rules. All 2-1/4 bats are deemed illegal. Can be no larger than 2-5/8 but can't be 2-1/4. Leave it to IL to ban one if the most popular "youth league" size bats. Before this was called to our attention my 7 yr old son loved the feel and swing of the bat and he was comfortable enough with it to have connected on some good grounders (machine pitch league). Now hes pretty upset he can't use his new bat, but i guess that goes back to me to not read all the rule book and just assume a bat that even the Little League rule book has no restrictions on would be ok for us. Luckily the team has a 2-5/8 "team bat" he can use and he got a couple hits with at tonight's game. I guess its better to have Forty bucks out the window than have dropped One-Fifty on a bat and have it deemed illegal.

But warped
At first I was very impressed with this bat and the price. Perhaps you get what you pay for. The bat warped and is now slightly crooked. This occurred through normal use, playing baseball, at my son‘s third game. No option to return. Sadness. :(

Bent Bat
This bat bent in less than a month. This bat is not designed to use with hard balls or faster pitching. <8 would be fine.
